At YOUR border. Finish the fence and call the Guard to protect YOUR citizens.

Why should Abbott use my money to build an international fence?
Is that not the responsibility of the federal government?
After all, the US Gov has stymied states from doing anything, citing the federal government as having all authority (over states) with regard to immigration.

Better yet … how about we use Massachusetts tax payers’ money to fund it?
Or Oregon?
Or Ohio?

His failure to gain control over this disaster is sufficient reason to throw him out in November.

I can think of several reasons to vote out Abbott.
International border enforcement isn’t amongst my list.

Abbot is locking the gate and Biden is unlocking it.

Video shows border agents calmly unlocking gates to let in migrants (NY Post

Fox News’ Bill Melugin said he watched Border Patrol agents open the gate that had been locked by members of the Texas National Guard, who watched as the immigrants streamed into the country.

I was under the impression that Texas was continuing the wall in places?

Yes

I would think because the Biden government will not protect the USA/Texas border that is their responsibility. If I lived in Texas I would be fine with using my tax dollars to build a fence and protect the border. As a Louisiana citizen I would be fine with us contributing tax dollars to help Texas finish what is left to close the gaps. My question would be can the feds stop it? technically speaking is their a strip of federal allocated land on the border or does Texas own it or does private land ownership go directly to the border? If private ownership goes to the border I am sure private owners would be glad to allow Texas to build on private land. Feds can't stop that.

I have the same questions. What good does it do for Abbott and the Texas taxpayers to build the wall if the feds are gonna open the gate and let the invaders in?

So Beto can just let everyone in?

That’s dumb.

What’s his opponent’s plan to tackle this issue head on?

Good idea…I’m sure Beta will be a much tougher border czar.

Texas tax payers contribute $millions each year to offset the effects of illegal immigration—ways that go far beyond the construction of a wall.

Yet we’re prevented from taking effective actions (with any teeth)—all in the name of the Supremacy Clause:

quote:

Although states are able to assist in immigration regulation and enforcement, it is the federal government that has the legal power to enforce U.S. immigration laws.

The U.S. Constitution includes a Supremacy Clause, which prevents state laws from interfering with immigration enforcement by the federal government.

Biden has made it his mission to allow as many illegals into this country as possible.

And yes, I DO have a major problem with my tax dollars being used to protect the international border.
Would you be ok with Louisiana citizens single-handedly funding the entire US military? Or the IRS? How about all National parks?

Here’s your chance to prove to everyone you’re not a complete fricking retard that will never be a productive member of society:

What is his opponent going to do to gain control over this disaster?

Kick the f-ing Feds out. Call up state guard. Appeal to your citizens to stop the illegals and drugs. Other states will help...eventually....

The goal is not to close the border but stop the illegal immigration. There needs to be a wall. We are not able to control immigration without it.
We aim to have a border and process where things are done legally d through the correct process that is law. I have no problem with Texas finishing the wall.

He should have an “environmental impact fee” that is charged to any new residents coming to Texas. He should then use that money to pay for the wall.

You know...to fight climate change.

This.

Plus, I thought the bussing move was a gimmick at first, but shipping them off to blue states has shown to be a fantastic move.

Shipping them to the OP’s town should be next - maybe YOU can pay the money to finish the wall for us.

He's getting a lot more attention shipping them to DC and New York City. Fighting with our own boarder patrol and national guard is a no way situation

You might be unhappy with the job Greg Abbott has done but unless you are a leftist progstain, Beto would be much worse

Order the guard to shoot "anyone" who is caught opening the gate or aiding illegal immigration. I know it won't happen, but that's the level of resolve needed to do anything about this crisis. Anything else is just empty platitudes.
