Why doesn’t LSU claim 1908 NC

10–0 record and out scored opponents 442 to 11. I know there were investigations and LSU ended up being cleared but why does LSU not officially recognize this season as a national championship season after being retro-picked as co-national champion by the National Championship Foundation

I remember 1908 fondly. I was a Junior at the time. LSU played a weak arse schedule, that's why.
I mean come on.... Young Men's Gymnastic Club-New Orleans, Jackson Barracks-New Orleans, Texas A&M, Southwestern Presbyterian, Haskell, Louisiana Industrial??? Are any of those teams even Power 5?

It sounds kinda dumb, but I really wish we would just claim the damn thing. Everybody else does it, it would also reward us with a 5th title. Sounds silly, but I have wanted it to happen for years. Looking back at that team’s box scores and the way they blew their opponents out, needs to be done.

I never knew this but I saw it on SI.com on the list of champions by year. Said LSU and Penn share 1908

Michigan claims a national title where their only selector that season was the retroactive NCF. 1903 and 1904. So there is precedent to claim that title. It’s a disservice to our history to not claim 1908.
Tulane said LSU used pro players and it scared LSU of every recognizing 1908.
