Ankle holsters are kinda dumb imo.

For anyone who reads this and is wondering why I disagree with ankle holsters, there are a few reasons. First, it is a slow draw with lots of movements. Next, it requires you to focus less on the threat and more on finding that gun. Next, it causes you to lose your footing because when you take away your strong footing, someone can easily push you over. Finally, if someone is on top of you, the chances of you reaching for that gun are going to be next to nothing. I would never suggest using an ankle holster as a primary method of carry. Get a good holster and carry anywhere from 12 to 3 (12 to 9 for lefties) (6 o'clock carry is dumb too).

You don't want a big gun on your ankle. A M&P compact is a big gun when you are talking about an ankle gun.

An elastic knee support slipped down to your ankle will hold it snuggly for quickie trips to the store. But it gets warm and unpleasant during the heat of summer. Just get a belt holder and wear your shirt out.

Put a Shield in your back pocket and be done with it.

I picked up one for church.

When I wear my slacks the Kahr will print in a major way.

So I use the ankle and put on my boots.

If I wear my jeans I use my pocket Holster.

I figure I'll be sitting or kneeling enough during the service I could get to it was than a pocket holster sitting down in my slacks.

I got one that has a strap that goes above the calf so it doesn't slide down.

Amen.

Someone is gonna look pretty comical in a Walmart parking lot running to cover while trying to draw from an ankle holster.

Now, if the OP happens to be an Uber driver or a UPS driver, the dynamics and the recommendation change significantly.

Not tight. ankle length skinny jeans that make you look like some soy boy fig.

Dickies flex work pants, golf shorts, or Magellan fishing shorts. You can easily fit a shield in those especially in the waist band. Unless you’re some fat frick. Then just drape your 2X shirt over your fat arse and no one will see your pockets or the Shield.

Depends on the environment - I ankle carry as #2 and when I have to have shirt/tie but not wearing coat. For setting where I’m being seated, this is actually preferred over appendix or arsecrack. Surprisingly if you’re being patted, people rarely check ankles if you lift shirt to show belly and volunteer to empty pockets.

Get one that has two straps - one over top of calf and on for ankle itself.

It’s hot as balls, and even a small cc piece is heavy on the ankle so easily detected if you’re in situations where others are assessing you.

M&P doesn’t fit in any pockets of any pants I own without printing significantly.

He was talking about putting one in his back pocket. I wear size 32 pants, and very, very few of them could fit my Shield in the pockets, and if I could squeeze it in it would scream handgun and would be nearly impossible to draw. If I have to pocket carry it’s an LCP.

If I didn’t already have a CC gun or two, this is the way I’d go.
Instead of an IWB holster and a double stack which is sometimes a little bulky.
