You can't say things are bad at home if things are potentially worse elsewhere. We all know this.

Brittney Griner. The same person who wouldn't take the floor during the National Anthem.
Karma's 100% real.
Damn, I hope Putin turns dipshit Biden's reckless offer down.

Funny how she wrote a letter abt how she used to celebrate July 4th and loves America etc suddenly.

I am all for protecting US Citizens and maybe she has now learned it is not bad here afterall. If she says some more nice things abt the US I say make a reasonable trade and bring her home not an arms dealer. However stop the media bs of she had a prescription. Not every country loves drugs like we do here.

Imagine politics invading your mind to the point that you’re celebrating a U.S citizen objectively sentenced to an egregious prison stint.

This is likely going to cost America having to turn over a violent and/or dangerous enemy to us.

But we’re happy because of her political identity. Cool, I guess

This is the lowest level IQ talking point. Shouldn’t be surprised to see it here where the lowest level IQ population resides.

You can want and advocate for things to be better at A, even if things are worse at B. They aren’t mutually exclusive

then they shouldn't turn over a violent and/or dangerous enemy to us for someone that knowingly violated russian law. karma is a beautiful thing.

Because of her dumbass. Any violence this guy now commits - the blood is on her hands

I'm actually more concerned about the people still locked up in THIS country for marijuana possession

Is he going to pardon everyone in this country for illegal drug possession first?

ESPN is reporting that Griner has officially been sentenced to 9 years in prison. The time she has already been in custody will count toward her sentence.

A Russian court sentenced WNBA star Brittney Griner to nine years in prison Thursday, an expected conclusion to her trial that should allow negotiations for a prisoner swap to accelerate.

I have no idea about their drug laws, this sounds like a lot, but damn don't bring drugs into other countries.

What if this was Singapore? I agree with Singapore's drug laws and strict enforcement, should people be able to ignore them to the detriment of how safe and clean Singapore is? Shouldn't we respect another nation's laws?

She wilfully smuggled drugs into another country. She's an idiot. And I have no sympathy for her, given her deranged loser views.

I think it’s possible to not feel sympathy/understand the situation but also not be pumping your fist about it. I don’t really get that. What was the win here

It is in fact possible to derive schadenfreude from someone who hates America fricking around and finding out in another country's criminal system
