Trevor Penning caught up in another fight

The Saints had the equivalent of a bench clearing brawl in practice today that resulted in Trevor Penning and Malcolm Roach both leaving practice after a scuffle near the end of the session resulted in a massive scrum between them and a ton of their teammates.

Dennis Allen on the scuffle involving Saints’ Trevor Penning and Malcolm Roach: “We don’t have time for that.” Said they have work to do, and they’ve got to work together as a team.
Sheesh, has he started or been in a fight every practice so far?

Liked it at first.
Now I'm over it. Get back to work or the neilsen better be on his lines arse if it's really about just playing whistle to whistle

I like it. This team has needed toughness the past several seasons.
When the ball is on the ground in terms of
a fumble or onside kick, we repeatedly have gotten punked. 50/50 balls have been 15/85 balls for our team.
As good as our teams have been, they have left wins on the table by being soft with the ball and game on the line.
Some training camp scraps never hurt anyone. It ultimately builds team chemistry.

Go watch the videos from Monday and Tuesday. Nothing egregious on his end. Didn't see footage of the one today but seems like it's being overblown by the media. Would rather the guy I drafted to be my franchise LT being physical and not being pushed around then some pansy rookie just trying to fit in.

At some point this fool needs calm the f down. It's not good to be a hated guy in the locker room.

I just saw the footage from today.
On none of the occasions did Penning do anything wrong. Looked like regular hard blocking up to the whistle.
In every instance it was the Defense instigating, throwing punches, and being little bitches in general.
In my opinion, DA needs to get on his defenders, not Penning.

yes, but.
penning needs to learn to control himself a little better because you know other teams will be on his arse start to finish to get him to do something stupid

I really haven't seen him do anything in any of the videos that he needs to control himself from too much.
He should learn to not hit back after getting struck in the face several times, but thats about it.

The one with Payton Turner, Turner started it because he was getting beat.
The one with Byrce Thompson I think it was, Penning did block him after the whistle blew, but nothing egregious
Did not see the one today
Keep it whistle to whistle, no issues there, that should be the expectation for everyone on the field.

I fricking love Penning's mentality. Hopefully it will rub off on our 2 starting OG's.

Exactly. Peat and ruiz need some toughness.

Every highlight video I’ve watched so far of camp, I kept wondering who number 70 was. Every time 70 shows up in the highlights, he was blatantly holding, or nearly coming to blows with someone. I just guessed it was Penning based on his rep for penalties and having a nasty streak. I get things get heated sometimes, but dude ain’t gotta fight his teammates every day.

Peat is a pretty good run blocker I think but I'd rather him in there than a backup if no one is gonna beat him out.
And I'm no Peat apologist.
Big year for Ruiz. I'm sure he knows that more than anyone else.

How the hell is there no video of this “brawl”?

From dominant to douche real quick if he is not careful.

When I first started posting on here some dude used to always say my name looked like “laundry”. Name was Patrick or something. He posted on Saints board as much as anyone then just disappeared.
