3000 miles on a 22 RDX. It’s been in the shop for a month with a leaking sunroof. I was told that Honda got defective a shipment of defective sunroofs and all sunroofs are on back order. They have no idea when they’ll get a part.

I think I’m just going to Lemon Law it and get something else at this point.

at least it didn't explode

By now, you could be wondering about your own car’s sunroof. Fortunately, Global News listed the cars with the most complaints of exploding sunroofs. The top 10 are as follows:

Hyundai Santa Fe: 37 complaints
Nissan Murano: 19
BMW 3 Series: 13
Kia Sorento: 10
Mazda3: 9
Toyota RAV4: 9
Nissan Rogue: 9
Ford Focus: 8
Ford Edge: 6
Hyundai Elantra: 6

When they fix it, it’s going to be a nice Acura.

When they fix a Ford, it’s still a broke down POS.

Not yet but it’s a widespread problem and their is a nationwide waiting list for parts.

unless you live in california there is no need for a sunroof, its just a designed leak waiting to happen

Bought my wife a 2 year old vehicle with a sunroof years ago. Didn't want the sunroof but the deal on the vehicle was extremely good. Told her under no circumstances was she to ever open that thing.

I've never thought sunroofs are a good idea. Putting a hole in any roof is always a gamble that you (or someone) will eventually lose. I've owned vehicles with sunroofs, but I don't particularly care for them.

The new ones just come with them. You don’t have a choice. There are drain holes in all of them. There’s all leak into the drain, if your drain gets clogged you get water on the floor.

I think for lemon law it has to go into the shop at least three separate times for the same issue. I had to do this on a 2016 Chevy equinox for the transmission. Absolute pain in my arse to deal with.

Stop….no they aren’t, this is absurd. Acura is no Lexus in terms of quality, but good upscale Hondas. Looks like they finally got their design language in the right direction too.

Sunroofs seem to cause more trouble than their worth

Well that’s not true. Consumer reports has Acura ranked as the third most reliable luxury make for 2022, or eighth overall.

It is also consistently ranked as the luxury make with the highest value proposition for consumers.

The sunroof problem is widespread with Acuras. I would think a recall is forthcoming. It’s all over YouTube. I don’t think I would buy a new one this year.

Knowing what I know now, I would definitely wait till 2023 to buy a new one.
