I say 2008. You had tropic thunder released that year. No way in hell In todays PC culture could a movie be made even satirically using racial slurs

2008 to 2010

(ETA: With the caveat, that QT could probably get enough leeway to make something with similar content, but he doesn't get straight comedy well enough to pull off the masterpiece that is Blazing Saddles.)

I say 2008.
The multiple uses of the N word would keep it out of this current century.

Django Unchained came out in 2012.
Not even close to the punchline context in which it was freely used in Blazing Saddles.

The people using the word in Blazing Saddles are the punchline, not the word itself.

The only reason people wouldn't allow the movie to be made now is because they don't understand the message. Which is likely, because most people are fricking dumb.

Remember when we all threw the N word around like it was nothing, then Obama became President and we had to stop?

Please tell me which word you could use as a replacement and still get the same level of shock-humor.

Since the word itself wasn't the punchline.

It didn't stop until the NFL put messages in endzones and on helmets

I'm currently watching season 2 of peaky blinders which came out in 2014 and there's a part where a black guy isn't served at a bar simply because he's black, and they call him the N word and try to beat them up while tossing him out. And woke arse netflix didn't censor it or scrub the episode. So it's not like it's unheard of for aht to happen.

And just recently I did a full rewatch of 30 rock and while they don't say the N word obviously it is FULL of racial humor.

About 1995.

That movie will probably get memory holed before long. Hold on to your physical VHS and DVD copies.

A Million Ways to Die in the West came out in 2014 and it has a ton of race humor in it.

I agree. Context doesn't even matter today. There was some turning point between 2010-2020 where the N-word was awarded magical powers in that it's use in any context would somehow harm people.
