Actor watching his own show on plane yesterday

Flying home from the UK yesterday and recognized an actor from a well known TV series from the early 2000's in the pre-boarding lounge. He ends up sitting across the aisle and two rows up from me.*
*insert mandatory OT "why fly commercial?" joke here.
Halfway through the flight I glance up and the guy is watching his own TV series on the seatback screen and especially episodes in which his character had a lot of screen time. It seemed odd to me and I have been trying to figure out the motivation.
Do you think this dude is studying his craft and reviewing his own performance?
Reliving his glory days of being on a major TV series?
Or was this guy being a complete narcissist and hoping someone would recognize him based off of the show?
FWIW, this was one of the main characters from Mad Men, he lives in NOLA, but not Jon Hamm.
ETA. As covered in my post below. Yeah. It was Batt. I wasn't trying to be coy. Last time I mentioned someone by name on here the thread got whacked. I thought it was a no no for some reason.
No clue why anyone would make up something like this but it's the OT so I guess the accusations make sense. People do make up all kinds of shite but not this time.

Not weird. I do monthly/quarterly reviews. When I was straight commission I took time every month to see what was working. Baseball players still take batting practice. Quarterbacks watch tape.

Maybe he was just being nostalgic and the episode brought back some good memories.

I've met the guy you're referring to in the NOLA Airport. Name is Salvatore, I believe.

It seems like most actors on long running series may only watch a few episodes if any when they air. Chances are he doesn’t remember half of those episodes.
