The Norvell seat is going to be iron hot after we hang 50 on them
I could see this being within 14 in the first half but us pulling away with something like 49-21.
We ridin baws. Gonna be a fun year.

I thought the same thing last year vs ucla. I will have to see it to believe it now.
We should be a lot better just with coaching.

I actually had a nightmare last night that we lost 40-7.
Woke up pissed off today

that would be impressive. if that is the case, we are in for a ride starting now. i say this because i think the offense starts more slowly that the defense.
defense is going to be lights out. House had Kentucky #6 in the country in defense. and there is no way he had the horses he has now. how do you hide a less than elite bunch of CBs? With a stud defensive line.
offense will take a little time to gain timing/continuity. oline was going to be the weakness this year. then add the transfers + B Kelly = no longer a weakness.
I can convince myself of almost anything with this team.

I agree. Our talent and depth will have them gassed in the second half.

I hope so. I believe FSU will be a decent team next year. Theyve got some decent talent to be an 8-5 team. I see them on a similar talent level as UCLA last year, except we're alot better this year and at home (basically).
Sure they went 5-7 last season but it wasnt like they were getting blown out either.
They lost to
- Notre Dame by a field goal
- Jacksonville State by a field goal (respectable FBS school)
- @ Wake Forest
- Louisville
- @ Clemson
- NC State
- @ Florida by a field goal
Main thing is, you dont want to be looking forward to next week or else hotseat Mike could catch us slipping.

I know that some may say it doesn't mean that much, but the travel to UCLA last year hurt the team more than some might think.
I feel the same as you DT55...I butt whipping is incoming for FSU.
I don't think FSU scores more than 17, maybe 20. Two TD's and one or two field goals.
If LSU doesn't make a ton of mistakes, the good guys win by 21.

Unfortunately, this game will be closer than the experts think. FSU play a tune up game prior to our matchup. This ALWAYS helps the team with the additional game.
If we would play them after a warmup game, I believe we do win by 14+.

CBK did an interview yesterday and in it mentioned that the team had camp legs and were tired in the opener last year. Sorta took a shot at Moffitt without taking a shot at him. That won’t be the case this year. They spent the summer practicing outside to get the conditioning down.

Let's pump the brakes a tad here. I hope you're right. But I also know that we as LSU fans often overload our asses with our mouth.

I’d be very surprised if Florida state puts up 24 points on us with all new everything …. in the superdome. Doubtful at best

The worst secondary of all LSU history the past two years doesn’t boast high confidence. It’s a wait and see thing for now

Whatever you think about LSU or FSU. FSU has taken it to LSU more than we have to them. So I will be a little cautious here.

Alot of that falls back on the head coach.
Idk if yall remember this but this was an article talking about the changes in practice Orgeron made.
"Shorter practices
Orgeron thought the team perhaps expended too much energy at practice, and statistics seem to support his argument.
In four games this year, the Tigers have been outscored 32-0 in the fourth quarter.
“Less time on the practice field and more time in the meeting room and hopefully, we’re fresh,” Orgeron said."

Ever heard of the 4th Quarter Drill? It's the 2 minute drill after running sprints at the end of practice. Drops, fumbles, penalties, and interceptions result in more sprints. It works. When your guys arent in shape, it results in injuries. The S&C coach only has so much say.

I think we have a lot of experienced guys at DB thus year
Ward is a good player and probably calls the assignments out. When he has gone out in the past, things got bad
Joe Foucha was a multi year starter at Arkansas, as was Brooks. After the spring it sounded like Brooks is entrenched at the Nickel ahead of Sage Ryan
Major Burns is a returning starter
Bernard Converse was an All Big 12 player at Okie State
Seven Banks was a big time recruit and has experience. Coming off an injury
Garner was a starter and 3rd team All Conference player at ULL
I also think Radar has ability and if he connects with the coaches, can contribute.
Not counting on any of the freshmen
We will see, but hopefully the CB’s can stand up and play well. I actually feel pretty good at Safety.

You should pay attention to Laterrance Welch. He’s got the goods to play in year 1.

I want to believe but UCLA keeps me from being overly confident.
I truly think our roster is good enough to win 9 or 10 games but I can’t fully believe it until I see us play FSU.
