Love the names of each price tier and the Welcome to Thunderdome tagline

jesus! that was lower budget than some regular arse recreation games in Terrebonne Parish.

i remember a local radio guy bitching about lack of attendance.
Said "you know if the Saints (pre-Brees era) went on a playoff run, that dome would be full. So why isn't the Civic Center?"

dude legit could not fathom how an NFL team could ever draw more people than a mom and pop indoor team.

My ex-wife and I went to a local indoor football league team game in Allen Texas years ago. We were standing around in an area near the end zone where they set up small tables and served food and cocktails. We were introduced to a former Heisman trophy winner who was somehow involved with the league or the team…maybe Marcus Allen or Tim Brown. A former LSU running back was on the roster but I don’t remember who that was either.

But I vividly remember the QB making a low trajectory pass that missed the receiver but managed to hit one of the tables and hit it at an angle like a rock skipping on the water. The ball, still traveling at a high rate of speed, hit my ex right in her arse. Now that - I remember that.

good point, but the dude followed that statement with something along the lines of "if the Saints ever actually win a Super Bowl, you know that'll be front page of the Times Picayune. Maybe even the Houma Courier"

with such inflection on the Courrier part that he made it sound like the Courrier was the New York Times or Chicago Tribune sized paper and The Picayune was some High School rag.

I think it’s funny there was “minor league” arena football called AF2.

Went to 1 Texas Terror game in the Summit.

Anyone remember the dimensions of the field? Was an interesting novelty, but generally a waste of time to see former college players trying to play football on a smaller field.

The Terror had some cool mascots with classic monsters, like Frankenstein running around. But I guess they were too scary, since the team was eventually re-branded as the Thunderbears.

Some games would get a packed house but the thing that hurt em the most (i think) was even weekend there was a fishing rodeo somewhere etc that they had to compete with for fan dollars

It was exactly 1/4th the size of an NFL field
