The judge has been dead for over 50 years and his boys have not held office in close to 35 years

John B. Edwards and his bagman, Jay Luneau.

1- Anyone who uses "Piyush" to refer to Bobby Jindal is someone whose opinions on anything should be ignored.
2- I don't believe Bobby Jindal, himself, to the core as a person, was one of the most corrupt politicians in recent Louisiana history. However, he probably did the largest 180 of any politician, campaigning and winning by a landside running against the "good ole boy network", to eventually getting deep in bed with John Alario for political expediency. That showed he wasn't the man cut out for what people were hoping he'd be.
In the end, not in the running for most corrupt, but definitely in the running for biggest disappointment. Like a huge #1 draft pick bust.

The acadia parish clerk of court is the highest paid elected official in the state. The title has been held by the same family for almsot 150 years i think. nobody ever runs against them. iirc Huey Long was somehow involved in it. I’ll try to find the story and link it
Edit: LINK
I'm normally not a fan of Lamar White's dribbles, but that was a pretty good article. Much of it what Larry Lege tried to inform people of in 2011 when he tried to challenge the Barousse and the Acadia Parish Courthouse crowd. Back then, that combo of Barousse as Clerk of Court, Wayne Melancon as Sheriff, and Jack Montoucet as the State Rep. over that area was a Huey Long/Edwin Edwards type dream. I'd bet they'd all view Bob Odom as an awesome leader. Then the guy who was running for Assessor in 2011 and won, he cozied up heavily to that crowd and abandoned the more "reform" type angles he had portrayed as Mayor of Rayne, unfortunately. That was very disappointing to witness.
Emily Stoma never had a chance to unseat Barousse in 2019. I'd have loved to see it, but after the way 2011 went within that courthouse and in the communities, I knew it would never happen.
I'm convinced Louisiana State Government will never accomplish the reforms internally and for the state it needs until that statute of Huey Long in front the Capitol is torn down and thrown into the Mississippi River, and I'm equally convinced Acadia Parish Government will never bring the parish into what it needs to make the strides even Vermilion Parish and the towns close to it in Lafayette Parish has made until that plaque/statute of Edwin Edwards in front the courthouse is ripped out and thrown into the Mermentau River.

He still stunk to high heaven. Screw him.

Jindal was at the core no better than any of the rest, he was just a fast talker with some decent rhetoric. He and plenty of his cronies were filling up their pockets.
frick him, forever. And yes, I meant to say Piyush.

I’d be pissed if I lived in Acadia Parish.
I would be willing to bet the same people that keep voting for him were supporting Trump when he talked about draining the swamp.

For every corrupt state official there's probably 4 to 5 corrupt local politicians and it's almost NEVER talked about.

And you’d win that bet.
So amazing how some of these crony as hell politicians keep getting the same voters who want to “drain the swamp” conned.

A couple of y’all have called out Bill Cassidy. I get that you don’t like his votes on Trump’s impeachment but what do you have on him regarding corruption?

A lot of boomer conservatives in Louisiana are economic populists but always vote Republican in national elections because of abortion. That's why it's so funny when people say Louisiana is a Republican run state. We have some of the most stringent regulations and occupational license requirement that have been untouched because most our Republican legislators were Democrats in the 90's.

Not sure how you don't have Jeff Landry and Clay Higgins on this list.

The ones in my town/Parish, simple as that. Washington Parish is as dirty as it’s ever been.

I can't say that my town is any better. The mayor here has been in charge in some form or fashion since the 80's.

Among “Republicans” Alario is the worst

Any current list without Cleo is incomplete
