Who here enjoyed Infinity War more than Endgame?

I just watched both for the first time in a while and I think Infinity War is a much better movie.
Thanos is fantastic, better fights, better set pieces, and seeing them actually get their arse kicked at the end was great. Thor is particularly good in it.
Endgame wrapped it up nicely but Infinity War is much more re-watchable to me.

Infinity war IS better by every metric I can think of.
Endgame's length was and is brutal. Could have been chopped into two movies, it was an experience but man its hard to rewatch.
And Thor >>>>>> Captain Marvel, who thought it was a good idea to introduce her just so she can chew scenery and vanish for the rest of the movie to pop in at the end with that karen haircut (that my wife immediately made fun of) just so she could look good beating up Thanos until he quite literally punched her out of the movie.
Every scene she was in should have been Thor and it would have been better.
You could start to see the future cracks in the MCU showing in Endgame. By that I mean over reliance on asspull plot contrivances, womens power!! scenes that looked stupid (except for Wanda manhandling Thanos, that was badass and earned) IW on the other hand was damn near perfection.
I did like Ant Man being relevant though.

I didn’t even know this was supposed to be anything other than the commonly accepted take.

No doubt.

Infinity War was the last real Avengers movie of the old MCU, and probably the closest thing we will ever get to the works of Jack Kirby and Stan Lee comics come to life.
It also features the best villain and villain portayal in a major cosmic/sci-fi blockbuster film since Darth Vader in the original Star Wars.
Endgame basically installed the future of the franchise and its ultimate demise/fall.
This isn't even a debate...

While I enjoyed Endgame, I also hated the deus ex machina time travel it used to end a decade-long arc.
The time traveling also opened the door for the multiverse, which is fun for comics, but for live action movies it gets all convoluted and it's already becoming such a mess.

Infinity War was a nearly perfect movie...and the only time I remember an entire crowd walking out of a movie in dead silence
Endgame was a fun movie and a good cap for the MCU but if Infinity War is a 10...Endgame is no more than an 8.

It was like they couldn’t do “girl power!!!” without being so damn obviously girl power. The marvel universe is replete with strong women yet they had to make it such a fabricated focal point.

Infinity War is a better movie but Endgame does what it was supposed to do.
With that said

This. IW is better in almost every way. While Endgame did its job admirably, it followed arguably the best comic book/superhero movie of all time. It also was too long and had some stupid parts to it (like the girl power moment mentioned above, for example).
But IW is that fricking good though. And it’s also arguably at the top of the “bad guy wins” movie list too.
Also, IW connected what was a strong 10-15 year run of comic movies about as perfectly as could possibly have been expected. And one of the most impressive things about it is that you can damn near watch IW without having seen ANY of the Marvel movies and still pick it up and follow along pretty well.

Love them both for different reasons. I think the battle scenes in both are epic, but Endgame’s is just next level crazy and amazing even if it’s a bit short. The portals and “Avengers Assemble” scene is perhaps the greatest Marvel will ever have, and one of the best in movie history imo.
I do, however, agree and find Infinity War to be the better film. It’s my favorite comic book film ever really, and with all the characters interacting it feels like reading panes of an old comic. Thanos is a villain for the ages as well and it’s really his movie.

All of this. Endgame is more rewatchable to me because of it having a culmination and finish, but IW is a superior movie.

How many scenes and/or battles in End Game had we already seen in previous movies due to time travel?

IW > EG for me. All of the reasons mentioned above.
Also, Thanos is a madman, but he really is convicted in his motivations that he's doing good. This is in contrast to other villains who just want to do pure evil for the sake of it.
IW was also the fastest 2.5 hr movie I've ever seen.

The introduction of Captain Marvel pissed me off. When asked where have you been this whole time while we’re fighting the madman set on killing 50% of all living beings her response was “I was busy”. Bitch what could be more important than stopping a fricking madman trying to gain infinite power so that he can erase 50% of life with the snap of his fingers?

Did you not know how long the movie was going to be before you went and watched it? The length of the movie is announced its not hidden. I'm always confused when people gripe about a movie being to long. You knew how long it was going to be before you watched it.
End game was 33m longer than Infinity War. You act like it was 2hrs longer. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't understand griping about something you knew going in.

I don’t think this is a hot take at all
IW is much better .

Infinty War is the more substantive movie/story (battles with higher life-or-death stakes, terrifyingly formidable & nuanced villain(s), shocking hero failure/defeat), but Endgame is easily more re-watchable.
Endgame was the perfect bow-tie for 20+ movies of story-telling: Stark's arc from selfish-to-selfless, Cap/Carter dance, Hulk wasn't a pussy like he was in IW, Cap's hammer worthiness, unprecedented 36 superhero team-up + armies/allies, mindless but fun time-travel. It was an incredibly satisfying "good guys win" pay-off with action, humor & heart. Way more rewatchable.

Endgame was good but had too many distractions- and I dislike time travel as a plot device.
Infinity War is, in my opinion, a perfect movie. Probably in my top 5 of all time.
