i primarily fish for bass but my perch rods are always in my boat. if the bass are slow i’ll set up a seat and jig for awhile. in this heat, it’s a nice change of pace.

Bass are tight in structure when it’s this hot. Try fallen trees, Lilly pads, underneath docks if you’re good at casting.

Try jigging at different depths for sacs or float around with shiners until you find them

This time of year I have the best luck just getting a bunch of crickets and night crawlers and fishing for bream and channel cats

Just a heads up don't get discouraged if your first few trips are rough for either one. I've never seen the fishing so bipolar day to day

Fished a spot yesterday early catching and seeing nothing. Came back a couple hours early, and it was loaded, and a lot bit.

With this heat early, late or at night will be best.

I love night fishing for bass in the summer

This time of year it is tough catching crappie. We resort to pulling crank baits out of the back of the boat. 1.7 mph is the target speed, 40 to 50 feet of line out. If you have never tried it, you will be surprised.

We do the same thing, but at 3-2.5 mph. Deep diving xd5 and 6 and a bandit 300. Drink as much beer as you can.

Catching sacs in MS river oxbow around Vidalia. Wearing them out.

Small storm pops up so we get under some trees to ride it out.

Go back when rain stops, not a bite.

I didn't catch a bunch of numbers of stripers this morning but I caught 4 overs (over 20"). Also caught some shad this morning that I'll use for cut bait on jugs later today.

What depths are y’all fishing in to troll for sacs? I’ve seen videos of people doing that on lake Grenada

We do a lot of this for walleye #7 Flicker Shad and we catch just as many sacalait as we do walleye…I was shocked how good it worked

My wife and I went out this morning. Caught our limit of striper. She had the big fish at 32" weighing about 14 pounds.

I've trolled for walleye many, many times but never for crappie. I might try it one day when I'm bored. I try to fish 5 days a week and about 75% of the time I'm by myself so I'm always looking for different things to try.

This time of year I'm catching crappie on deeper brush piles (Christmas trees I sank) on live minnows. You have to get right on the structure, sometimes right in front of their nose, to get a strike. Largemouth are mixed in.

I'm only catching the occasional largemouth on artifical and it's at sunset.
