How many years do you think Durant has left at an elite level?

I say maybe one. And I doubt it’s for more than 50 games.
How many times do teams need to get burned going for big names last their prime before they catch on?
Unless Durant starts juicing with Tom Brady he’s on a fast track to falling off a cliff.
He looked old in the playoffs. He’s not getting younger or better.
Every season from here to when he retires he will be worse and each year the decline will accelerate.
Give me a list of superstar players aged 34 and up who have gone to a new team and led them anywhere?
This would be Steve Nash, Gary Payton and Malone to the Lakers or Shaq to Phoenix.
It won’t work.
Trading a young stud for this dude would set the franchise back a decade and ruin everything they’ve built.
ESPN and Walmart fans would love it though

at least 4-5
but it’s not even about that. He’s a douchebag. I don’t want him on my team.

I would say 3, barring some crazy career ending injury.
I don’t want to trade for him though.

First team all nba level for 3+ years. Compare his stats to someone like Tatum and Ingram and you see he has a long ways to drop off before reaching where those guys are. And the chances of them reaching where he is now is very low. He will always be able to get his shot off.

I think he will still be an elite 3/small 4 for at least 3 more years.
The real question is how long will he be better than Ingram?

IMO, the real question is, what is the likelihood that BI is ever as good as KD is currently?
But I still don’t want to do it, would feel kinda dirty, because he’s so unlikable.

If he keeps playing the way he has lately without major injurt, more than likely at least 3 years. I love BI but KD is a legit top 15 player at least and has been for a decade.

all of that is true
and it’s also true that he’s a pussy and I don’t want him here

Durant 6th season his TS was 65
Ingram 6th season his TS was 55
That is not even comparable.
Durant this year was 63. Unless you think Ingram will be a top 5 player he will not be as good as Durant was this year. He can make all nba team and still
not come close to current Durant.

It's rare after 34.
MJ, Malone, KAJ, Duncan, LeBron,
Kidd, Rodman and others ?
KD already had achilles injury...He will stay a superstar until 34 or 35 (maybe)

of course he will decline but you are discounting how far he has to fall. He can coast to the finish and still be top 15 or 20 all time

Honestly I have never seen an nba with so much competition...
A consensus top 20 player actually doesn't exist for me.
KD is already top 15-20 all time

Hate to say it, but I agree
He is one of my favorite Pels ever, but I find it pretty unlikely that at any point BI is a top 5 player in this league, whereas Durant legit could make the case for being a top 3 player during half his career, including just last season.
KD was/is just on another level as an offensive player. Like last year it really just seemed like he could just score literally at will, from anywhere, against anyone. He was averaging 27-7-6 and 45% from three coming off an Achilles injury. That’s just insane.
If instead of his laid back, deferential nature, if KD had the aggression and mentality of some of his peers all time, like Bird, Jordan, Kobe etc. Durant would be able to make a case for the best offensive scorer of the modern era.

I don't really agree. This is the first time he's asked for a trade in his career. Is he a douchebag because he didn't like getting bossed by Draymond? Because he had burner accounts? Because those things don't really seem like big deals to me.
By all accounts, he was a good leader for Team USA at the Olympics last year.

the dude is soft. A killer on the court but a complete zero off of it. He was the leader in OKC and he blew it off like it was nothing. You think ingram would do that, in the off-season after going to the conference finals?
douchebag
douchebag

2-3 because his game isn’t based on athleticism
But Ingram has 12

He’s more likely on the spectrum than soft.

What makes people think Durant would come to a small market like nola
Posted on 7/1/22 at 10:12 pm to GOP_Tiger
I agree
There’s frankly nothing in his entire career that says to me KD is an a-hole or douche.
Seems like people just hate him because of the GS thing, and that’s fair on that level, but KD himself is, by all accounts, a great teammate, a good person, someone that loves the game, with some minor quirks like getting too into posting(something you would think everyone posting on this board could relate to), and some toxic loyalties to the wrong players(Kyrie, DeAndre Jordan).
I’d even argue more than almost anyone, KD is motivated by the right things which is winning championships. Obsessed to a fault really. Cause not only does he want them, he left a dynasty in order to try and win them on terms people would see as more accomplished.
