LSU doesn't have the boosters these other schools do

This is a false narrative. LSU's network of alumni and boosters has serious money--always has. Look at how much we have paid for coaches and facilities over the last 20 years compared to other programs. We also have an advantage being the only P5 program in a state full of talent, and we have large alumni bases outside the state in Houston, DFW and Atlanta.

NIL is new, and it has rocked the boat; however, things will smooth out and LSU will remain competitive. LSU football is going to make a lot of kids a lot of money.

He’s in his prime now and isn’t making that kind of money.

The number 1 recruit in the country will make more than an above average 27 year old running back in the NFL.

The kids in this first batch of NIL bullshite better be sure fire hits because a few 5 star busts will level this shite out.

this is such a hilariously bad take that continuously gets repeated as if it’s true.

Do you really think people shelling out millions of dollars don’t understand the inherent risk of players being busts? CFB recruiting isn’t a new phenomenon. If you are paying for players, you’re doing so with an understanding that they all won’t pan out and that’s it’s just part of the game.

I listened to a podcast with a CFB writer who said that a lot of the NIL money is coming from the same people who were already paying players under the table anyway. He mentioned the sentiment a lot of fans have, and that you are referring to, where people think a few busts will tighten up the NIL money flow. He said it’s simply not the case as these guys know the risks already and that, if anything, the risk of busting is already baked into the money they are giving players.

You are partially right....maybe not as many, but still plenty enough. LSU has 14 prominent boosters with net values of over 500 million. LSU also has 2 prominent boosters with a net value of over 2 billion each....

Who you think pays the buyouts and new coaching salaries?

LSU has plenty of $$$ to compete. Quit being a negative puss all the time

You don't make that kind of scratch by taking millions of dollars and lighting it on fire though. Which is exactly what they'd be doing.

FWIW - The dude that predicted Jalen today on On3 has 144 Twitter followers and almost zero activity, but is listed as the "Managing Editor" for the Miami On3 page...

On3 Miami site started today, iirc. Brought over some long time rivals guys. I don’t think they tweet much but they’ve been around the program for a long time.

Not to mention the $10m target that he will be wearing now. NIL bounty hunters on the defensive side. I'm willing to chip in on the bounty pool collective.

the ones with money like TAMU, Ohio St, Miami, USC, UGA, Bama, Texas, etc, will spend ridiculous amounts of money to get the top guys.

I really don't think Alabama has thousands of disgustingly rich alumni like A&M & Texas that can or will throw 10’s of Millions at every 5* recruit on Saban's wish list. IMO Alabama’s basically in the same spot as LSU - Richer than most Universities but not close to the same size war chest like an A&M or Texas.

BTW I may be completely wrong about Bama’s $$ situation but I really think they’re in a similar situation as other Big6 SEC schools like LSU, Florida, Tenn & Auburn. Actually LSU is probably in a better situation than UF & AU since LSU doesn't have another P5 School in the state like the others.
