Pawl won ONE Natty. That’s it

He inherited a program that was set up for success. Yes, Smoke didn’t do it any favors but the team in 2009 had a lot of upper class men that Smoke recruited and coached. Kids WANTED to come to LSU to play baseball and still do.
For those bashing Bianco for being at Ole Miss for 21 years before winning it all, Ole Miss had 5 seasons with an above .500 SEC record in the 20 seasons before he got there. He built that program from pretty much nothing. They were a sub .500 SEC team halfway through the season. I’m proud of Bianco. He’s one helluva baseball coach and no matter what colors he wears, he’s still a Tiger!

No, he did not. This team was in shambles, by our standards, when Smoke was let go.

They weren't over .500 this season. The got hot at the best possible time.

The hypocrisy in your post is telling

You say this, but then shite on Paul who just this weekend turned down a HC job on a CWS team because he is enjoying living in BR and being an ambassador for LSU.
I think most people on this board don’t hate Bianco, they just don’t want him to be LSU’s head coach. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Bianco and LSU have the same number of national championships in the last 22 years.

I think you can’t be too critical of any head coach in any sport who has a national championship to his credit. Regardless of what people would have you believe, I don’t think anyone just gets lucky and wins a national championship.

No it wasn't but it was in a better place than where Bianco started.

I have mentioned that, but only to p[eople who try to lay up Bianco as being the guy we should have hired or that he is somehow better than Manieri was.

OK, so that's a reason to say he needed some time, not 21 years, to prove himself deserving of the job. He had less CWS appearances in 21 years than Paul did in the 15 he was at LSU. He has less CWS championship game appearances.

Not a raving endorsement of his coaching.

Look, I like Bianco and I wouldn't have been despondent if LSU had hired him. But he has been a Rebel for 22 years now. I was pulling for him today but he is a Rebel, not a tiger right now.

Good for him. That's great he made Ole Miss a good program, but once he established them he still couldn't get to Omaha. They had the #1 class a few years ago? They've had great players. He's been to Omaha like 2xs in 21 years? Even USM has been to Omaha recently. Seems like baseball in Mississippi is doing well.

My point exactly. Everyone here shitting on Bianco and he’s got the same number of championships as we do.

What about bianco’s barely above .500 career sec record?
Posted on 6/26/22 at 9:52 pm to Lsuhoohoo
Stupid comments like this man ! There is no comparison of lsu and ole miss the last 22 years ole miss doesn’t even come close to the success lsu has had the last 22 years just stop with the bs yea lsu won 1 title in 21 years but they also play in another one back in 2017 oh you forgot about that one huh? And has been to Omaha several other times!

So you’re ok with Jay Johnson taking 22 years to win a national championship?
By your logic as long as you win a national championship it’s fine should CPM been given 22 years to win another one or does him winning 1 guarantee him the opportunity to coach for 22 years?

Never said that at any point. Johnson walking into a program with 6 National Championships in the last 30 years is a little different that Bianco walking into one that didn’t even have a 1000 seat stadium.

You’ll get bashed by the park cult but the numbers don’t lie. Pawl was a joke of a coach and lazy.

Was it in shambles though?
I mean LSU never stopped recruiting really well especially only a few years removed from winning 5 titles in 10 years. Saying that is we had the brand and players to rebuild very quick to compete.
