Didn't we just have this thread a couple weeks back?

Anyway, I tell it all the time - I thought Black Hole Sun was Pearl Jam (I had not really listened to much Soundgarden to that point, but I had heard of them).

Until about a year ago I thought Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress was CCR.
It really doesn’t sound like something a British band would do.

in terms of the vocal, rhythm, and melodic style. Clarke imitated John Fogerty's vocal style, which was based on the Creedence song "Green River"

quote:

It didn't impress CCR's John Fogerty who sued The Hollies over Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress claiming it sounded a lot like Credence's hit Green River.

All Right Now is another easy "who sings this song" bet.. Most everyone will say Bad Company, but it is Paul Rogers in a Pre Bad Co band named Free.

I thought Something In The Air by Thunderclap Newman was The Who for the longest time. Turns out, Pete Townsend produced it and played bass.

Young me thought Lola was Eric Clapton or Derek& The Dominoes too.

Never thought why TF would they do 2 songs so close in a title.

‘Twas a simpler time. And a simpler mind.
