The 1/6 hearings

I think it's pretty sad that a forum dedicated to politics, there's not stickied thread on the most important congressional hearings this country has seen in 50 years.

I spend enough time around MAGA people, read forums, tweets, etc., to understand the reluctance to watch these hearings. The basis of this idea is that this is a partisan witch hunt. There are only two Republicans on the panel and they're both paying a ridiculously high cost for being there. They're considered RINOs. They're considered traitors of the GOP. I get it. We can get into why the panel is constructed the way it is but, really, there's no need.

What's struck me about these hearings so far is that this isn't dems talking about republicans. Nearly every witness and statement has come from Trump appointees, Trump administration officials, lifelong republicans, WH counsel, etc. These aren't democrats telling the story.

When a Trump campaign official speaks of $250,000,000 being raised for "post-election legal costs" from small donors, but only $7M went to actual legal costs, that's not a dem talking shite. That's Trump's own man explaining what happened to your hard earned money.

Just seems this is something a lot of y'all should watch or at least start to watch. This isn't being presented at all as the RW media outlets would have you believe. If there were a possibility I was duped, I would want to hear from people who took part in the duping to come to my own conclusions.

This is important stuff. The vast majority of those people at the Capitol on 1/6/21 were victims. The vast majority of people on this board are victims. Policy is policy...you can love Trump's policies all you want. But it should be in your interest to remove your fingers from your ears and FACE the possibility that you were duped.

I can't think of one other circumstance in life where someone gets conned and has no interest in learning how. Except for cults...they don't have any interest in anything that could question their worldview.
