Purple alone is probably top 5 90s rock albums.
which is kind of why i say they are underrated.
Core,Purple, Tiny Music
that's a pretty impressive trio.
but, STP doesn't seem to get talked about as much as a lot of 90s bands.

So many choices.. but I can get with this one... They should be talked about alongside The Beatles and The Rolling Stones IMO..

Well yes, it's pretty obvious they're underrated. But the thread was most of all-time.

Big Star, Replacements, and T. Rex too. If the question wasn't limited to bands would certainly add JJ Cale and Brian Eno.

I keep mentioning this album from time to time but STP's Shangri La De Da has some gems on it as well

They get no respect because they didn't write their own material, but Three Dog Night was always a great concept.
I never get that, great musicians and great singers are not always great writers of music.
Great pick, BTW. I love Three Dog Night and also The Grass Roots, which another poster mentioned. Both very important in my development of my musical taste (I'm 60 and had older siblings, they put me in touch with a lot of groups earlier than many of my friends).
I might also add Loverboy to this list.

I've been listening to Inlet again this week, and it's easily one of my favorite albums of the last several years. The way they released it out of nowhere with no hype 20+ years after their previous album was such a boss move.
