The Superdome is pretty trashy

It’s got to be one of the lowest quality NFL stadiums. It’s a relic of the 70’s, and it’s still stuck there. I went to two games last year and it was run-down looking on the inside and not picturesque at all. The amenities were pretty weak and underwhelming as well.
Do you guys think we’ll ever strike a deal to get a new stadium, or is the state just gonna keep putting a Bandaid on the problem by doing renovations? Our state still seems bankrupt as always, so I doubt they’ll ever put aside any money for this.
If we ever did get a new stadium, where would you guys want it to be? Maybe they could buy a piece of land in a field somewhere in St. Tammany parish and put it over there away from all the cluster frick in Downtown NOLA. That might ruin the experience for out of town tourists though.
Alternatively, if they decide to keep it in the city, maybe they could just add some extra bleachers to Tulane Stadium and use it temporarily while they demolish the Dome and build a new stadium?

I don’t know where this particular poster came from, but he/she/them has some of the worst takes I’ve ever seen on this board. It’s entertaining, so I’m not mad about it. This was a well thought out nonsensical post.

They just spent half a billion putting in field suites and remodeling other parts of the dome. But sure let’s tear it down and build a new stadium.

I’ve got season tickets and everything looks good to me. The inside is brand new.

Unfortunately, the stadium itself is in New Orleans which is the American version of Mogadishu so...

What makes it special are the Saints and the people that cheer loudly for them. I’ve been to other stadiums with more amenities, but that stuff doesn’t make it a better experience. Just more expensive.

People will glamorize because of recent upgrades but it is still a bottom tier stadium in a great location

Saints don't need a new stadium. It is in perfect location to walk from hotels to game and French quarter after game.

People will secretly agree instead of spending almost a billion on upgrades they should have done a 2 year plan to demo the existing dome and create dome 2.0

it's thematic.

cbree88, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

The original poster is right…the superdome is frickin trashy….no good lights…its like LSU basketball…its hard to see…places like Duke Cameron Indoor Stadium is a treat to see…its pleasing to the eyes

People who make comments like this have clearly never been to other NFL stadiums.
Of the 7 I’ve been too, the dome was by far the best experience and overall in very good shape for how old it is. Sure if you’re comparing it to dallas’ or LA’s then yea its not as nice, but those also dont have the luxury of being right in the middle of the CBD. I think only 1/3rd of NFL stadiums are in downtown areas.
Give me an old loud stadium next to bars and restaurants over “amenities” in a suburb.
Go to a game at metlife or better yet fricking fedex field and you’ll realize how nice the superdome situation really is.
Ive been to the titans, bucs, panthers, giants, skins, ravens, and saints. None of those stadiums were nicer than the superdome and all were in much worse locations.

Sounds par for the course in Louisiana
They probably shouldn’t have put in a bunch of stupid renovations and additions at a time like this when they could have put money towards a new state of the art stadium.

Apples and oranges you’re trying to compare here.
