It would've been much better for LSU to get Kennesaw state. They had no arms left, and no fans in attendance. Southern Miss has a much better chance of piecing a game together with their pitching staff than Kennesaw would have and it'll be packed with their fans. It sucks that the Kennesaw third baseman forgot how to make a throw, and their 9 hole couldn't lay down a bunt.

Getting warmed up to pitch for the third time in 2 days would be tough regardless the number of pitches he threw previously

They do have 4 good starters. But three started and I think 4th pitched in relief today if I am not mistaken. Please correct me if I am wrong!

Stuart started a few midweeks early. Starter the last few midweeks was Matt Adams. He was hurt earlier in the season. I expect him to start tonight.

Here is rundown of who USM has left for tonight:

Matt Adams - RH. Low 90s. Sinker guy. Hasn’t pitched yet.

Dalton Rogers - LH. Pitched last night. One of the two closers.

Ben Etheridge - RH. Low 90s. Strike thrower. Started the year as Friday night guy.
Had some injuries but I think he’s ready to go now.

Landon Harper - RH. Other closer. Pitched Friday and last night. I’m sure he’s down.

Chandler Best - LH. Low 90s. Talented guy that hasn’t but it together yet.

Isiah Rhodes - RH. Side armer. He’s been solid as a change of pace guy.

Garret Ramsey - RH. Nasty slider. He pitched last night.

These haven’t pitched much because the opportunities haven’t been there with starters usually going deep.

Aubrey Gillentine - RH. Mid 90s. Older guy with decent stuff.

Justin Storm - LH. 88-91. 6’6 with a funky angle.

Drew Boyd - LH. Mid 80s junk thrower. Usually a matchup guy.

Niko Mazza - freshman. Mid 90s. Electric stuff. He’s flashed it but also struggled in his few chances.

Some of you have really bought into the stats USM got from their cupcake schedule. Pretty bizarre

All three of their starters lived up to the hype this weekend. Then they went to the pen with two guys throwing 97.

Yeah USMs field is very nice but brutally hot.

The sunken setup means little breeze down there. Combined with turf, it’s tough.

Adams and Ethridge are our 2 best arms left. As Woodshed said, Ethridge started the year as our Friday guy. He was not very good. Got moved to the bullpen, and was much better. Apparently, he has been battling arm soreness for the last 3 weeks and hasn’t pitched, but has been given the green light to go.

Adams started the year hurt, but has been a big boost during the midweek games. Low 90s with good offspeed.

I’m not sure if Isaiah Rhodes has pitched yet, but he is very good. Really good offspeed benders.

Chandler Best was our Sunday starter as a true freshman 3 years ago, and was not good. Got moved to the bullpen, and better but not great. Can get it up there 93-94, but he scares me.

We’re not void of remaining arms, but someone is going to have to pitch the game of their life.

Plenty of capable arms left for USM. I’m not that worried about depth. It’s more so just a question of whether or not those guys can pitch effectively against y’all’s offense.

We just have a lot of the conventional, overhand/three quarters delivery 91-93 with a good slider right handers that y’all see a lot of and hit well.

Storm (best lefty option, IMO, outside of Rogers) and Rhodes (righty submariner with a nasty slider) may be really key for us out of the pen.
