Seems like there is still time for schools to determine changing their enrollment rules, but that seems like a pretty big problem at this stage in the year. But hey, that’s me thinking the LHSAA actually gives a frick about students.
It's all fun and games until Braxton has to go to grace king

I thought they were open enrollment but could be incorrect. They seem to stack transfers from around the parish but maybe they just get the kids to move in
could be i dunno.
personally i think if you take anyone out of district period, you should be select. make it strict black and white, force the select to be over 50% of the members and then vote this crap out.
honestly its looking like right now over 45% of members will be select after this, hoping that forces a vote on the split that ends it. period.

Who fricking cares? Don't like it, beat em.
Don't forget, to play for Many, you have to live in that shite parish
All.you idiots want parity everywhere in all sports.
It's just mind numbing

first off i have said 100 times i want the split to end. the publics need to provide better environment, education, facilities, coaching etc
I dont want parity, i think the split it BS. All the private schools are offering is the same thing the publics do, a free education and that is at most.

well tell that to the MANY principle. He is the one that led the whole mob that pushed for the select non select yet he gets to select from all over the parish.....so yea i fricking care cause he is a frickign hypocrite just like that whole shite town and school.
fricking them. they are the ones that pushed this shite so they can play by the rules.
ftr no school i attended nor my kids would attend play them currently nor would they play them in the future and i currently have a step nephew on thier team....doesnt change the fact that they pushed for these rules so they need to play by them.
and sorry under no rules should the largest 2a school in the state be able to draw from 600 other kids giving them the same enrollment numbers as the very largest 4a schools in the state and still be able to compete in 2a.
frick them, go play with the selects and even if not, they should be subject to the enrollment of all the schools they get to choose kids from cause all of them can play football.

Ponchatoula is absolutely not magnet. Just Hammond.

You’re thinking of Neville with the transfers. None are open enrollment.
This isn’t what y’all think it is. This is a ploy to get everyone back together by putting way more teams into Select. Just stacking votes.
I’m all for bringing it back together. I’ve been antisplit the entire time.

how do the WM folks feel about this?

The guys I’ve talked to think it’ll be a 1 year thing and then we will all be back together.

thats what i think now too or atleast hope. essentially this puts close to 50% of the schools as select, meaning many are going to vote to just go back how they were.
i will say though, the LHSAA needs to go away from the dome. the select championships showed that to be the case.
also as much as selfishly want the baseball games played in sulphur, need to go away from there once youngsville is built and prolly move there.
best thing to do would be to not have them in one spot period, whoever makes the game....host at a location best for both schools fans at a neutral site and split the gate.

I disagree. I do think that the Louisiana government needs to cap what the Dome can charge. Is it not owned by the taxpayers? If so, why shouldn't the games be played there at no cost outside of operational? Then sell tickets at the schools with them receiving all of the profits and anything at the gate being split?

I can't stand Sulphur. The views are horrendous.

They can only charge that much because they know the LHSAA will pay it. I’m not sure why Baton Rouge couldn’t host it. The games are all played after LSU’s regular season ends and they redo the turf every summer anyway

Considering the LHSAA goes out of their way to show everyone how "we don't let schools make decisions to benefit athletics over academics", it would be HYSTERICAL for schools to actually change what students they admit, in order to benefit athletics over academics.

It is owned by the taxpayers, but the LHSAA is not a governmental entity.
I don't know if the Dome makes any money off of the rent, considering expenses.

Correct, and I’m under the impression that the magnet schools in Tangi took on that designation as part of the deseg plan, so it won’t be changing.

I doubt it costs $750,000 to operate the Dome a couple days. That’s what they charged the LHSAA the last time all games were there.

Wow. John Ehret would be select. They are big supporters of the split.

It's bullshite when Many in a parish of 24k does it, but Southern Lab in a metro of BR has been doing it since its existence is perfectly fine.
Once had a college coach when asked why he doesn't recruit any Southern Lab players, respond with, "Because they can't qualify"
Posted on 6/2/22 at 4:18 pm to Hurricane Mike
Let’s not forget Many and it’s community has fully invested in football and have made it a priority over pretty much everything else. Some schools don’t want to go all in on it and are mad others are, oh well.
