Too bad Pete Taylor Park only holds 4,300

For years have been proposing a weekend "Gulf Coast Classic" at MGM Ball Park in Biloxi before start of SEC play.
Have LSU ; Southern Miss ; South Alabama ; Houston/Rice or Florida State.

MGM holds 6,067 home of the Biloxi Shuckers
Could easily expand by adding LF Seats or a Grass Berm

It’s a great park.

You could do some RF seats where the grass area is now. LF seats/berm would require sitting in the middle of a 4-lane road….

4300 with standing room would be plenty for that type of classic

Wasn't there a rumor that Florida State and LSU are playing a 2 game mid-week series there next year?

State and Texas Tech played a 2-game series there in March of 2022.

Would never work, the bullpen is in foul territory.

Used to go watch the C-USA Tournament before they moved it to Hattiesburg. Hit the beach during the day, take your pick of like 9 casinos within a 5-mile radius and then take in a ballgame at night. Hard to beat.

I guess you weren’t here when some people were pissed earlier this season when there was an injury in the bullpen area. People were demanding we move the bullpen behind the outfield fences.

I have been to that park and it is very nice but I wish they would revive the Superdome classic. I guess the construction work will keep that on hold for a couple of more years.

Pretty nice view from the top level of the Beau Rivage parking garage too.

If USM gets a super, they might think about it. Unless it’s with Ole Piss. Then Trustmark would probably get the nod.

For the one time a year they sell out? It’s a great park, but they do not need left field bleachers until they get a much more significant commitment if they expand. It would be a nice place to have a weekend series with FL, AL or MS schools.

I've been there for a marathon before. The runners run up the frickin 110 ramp and into the stadium. brutal.
But It's a great venue and we thought the same thing about LSU playing there. It needs to happen.
