So the real question is where do we draw the line?

enforce the laws already on the books, stop expunging minor records, expand criminal negligance to parents of minors that commit gun violence, add years to the penalties for gun violence
crimes.

go buy a gun (or go throught the process) and then tell me what you think.

Is that the type of gun where it takes two hands to shoot it and it’s mounted on the back of a pick up truck? Like the cartels use to bully the government into letting El Chapo’s son out of prison? Imagine the devastation some insane incel could cause with that?

I don't believe in taking away people's rights that haven't committed a crime and doing so on words alone...

Have you ever looked at red flag laws and a ERPO petition for states like Oregon?

You could pretty much write most people up for something and they would have to request a hearing and appear in front of a judge within like 20 days to defend their right to keep or purchase a gun.

What if they do that with your right to vote?

So you support multiple gun control measures? What about the “this right shall not be infringed upon” folks? Does the constitution single out criminals and felons from owning guns?

Do you support multiple DWI offenders driving? I would say nobody does but they still drive. See how that works? WHAT GUN CONTROL MEASURES DO YOU SUGGEST?

The other day I read a lot of this, then I mentioned the sorts of things we would need to do to do that(beef up the ATF, take the handcuffs off them, staff up, allow the agency to create a damn registration spreadsheet and not be stuck in the 70's) and immediately people said no.

So, I'm not sure, if like "improving mental health," this is just empty words.

We do have to recognize absolutes
so you support no type of gun control measures at all? Your first post was about keeping them out of the hands of criminals… so, which is it?

Ask them what they want to do in order to improve mental health? How much money are they willing to spend towards it? You will have your answer in quick fashion, and that is not a damned thing, they just use that to deflect on the issue of guns, where they believe if they give an inch, a mile will be taken, which has already shown to not be the case.

WTF does sabes think is inside a can of RAID? Does he know that you can purchase chlorine at a pool store?

As far as fully automatic weapons - I'd personally love to own one. There are a few ways you can legally own one as well. Mb he didn't know about that.

I don't have any use for a nuke - so I think I'd take a hard pass on that one.

so you are getting asked 2 questions over and over and you haven't answered either with any sort of coherence:

1) do you own a gun, (or) have you gone through the process of buying a gun in the last 10 years?

2) what type of new controls do you suggest?

there's more than a few calm and rational people who will calmly engage you in a discussion, but you need to do a little better from your end than impassioned sky screaming.

Many scholars have interpreted the 2A as private citizens being able to own the weapons commonly carried by infantry.

Stricter background checks on obviously unstable people, and not only background, but certain people(not bubba wanted to kill a deer) should have their guns actively taken away.

The problem is the “scholars” interpreting it are biased and pandering fools. Plenty of reasonable concerned citizens, rightfully disagree with absolutist extremist

Are conservative voters unstable? Even if they support an obvious Russian asset like Donald Trump?
