Tua is going to dominate this league next year

I’m still hoping for some super-early Bama days pre-injury FIRE Tua, but I fear that was all just pretend

Speaking of Hawaiian qbs that played in the SEC, Jordan Ta’Amu looked great on his first USFL drive. He has sucked since.

Haven’t paid too much attention, but go Bandits.

Sep-Oct-Nov-Dec: football
Jan-Feb-Mar-Apr: basketball

I’ve watched maybe 30 minutes of USFL, my sports viewing this spring has been almost exclusively soccer since it is far easier to watch via streaming and is a better product.

That’s gay
You could have said that NHL or NBA playoffs have occupied your allotment of sports viewing time, and it would not be gay, but soccer sucks.
USFL>gayfers

I figured I would get this response, I don’t care much for the NBA (Golden State wins again) and I wish I could watch more NHL (I’m tied to the Blackhawks) but it’s not offered on any of my streaming services.

I've watched all the games and one thing for sure is - the referees are favoring Birmingham with some questionable calls, non calls at big moments ( like when they played N.O.).

Yeah, it seems like there might be some league direction on trying to make the games close. It definitely looks a little more like a developmental league than the XFL did. But I'm sure Fox doesn't to establish any doormat teams in the first season.

Any football is more interesting to me than almost any other sport, so I'll stop and watch a bit when I'm flipping channels.

It's pulling in better TV ratings than MLS and MLB on Sat and Sun nights, so this league will have a decent run.

It will get more competitive when the coaching staffs are balanced. NJ and Birmingham beat everyone even when they have off days or turnovers or injury issues because the other teams are a mess. New Orleans/Philly aren't bad. Birmingham lost 3-4n LB and their top RB (Replaced him with Bo Scarborogh though) and no one took advantage. NJ's starting QB went out and their super slow QB hasn't been attacked.

I believe I read somewhere that they would be shipping each team to their respective markets for the 2024 season. Its currently a financial issue.

The week 7 number drop will be interesting. Week 5 was a big drop but then last week had good numbers. The Preakness leading into one of the games was a big factor though so curious how big of a drop off they see

I’ve watched more games than I’ve missed and I enjoy it. Precisely for the reason that it’s football without BS and egos and the league injecting itself into every story, every game, every down.

I get that the players aren’t as good as the NFL, but as long as the competition level is even, who cares? The games usually come down to the wire as a result.

In another thread, a poster suggested what the USFL should do is focus not so much on being the NFL lite as College Football Plus. Right now I think their focus is a little off because of it. Almost like their identity is tied to being a step below the NFL.

I say start drafting high school players and raid the transfer portal and smaller colleges like mad for players. That would help ramp up the quality of player quite a bit and establish it as a different branch of football, different from both the NFL and College.

Bravo. I like all of what you said. This would be great as a next level league instead of a step or 2 below the supposed "best".
