It's actually better football than XFL.

I also haven't heard of any USFL players getting killed or arrested so far.

A league where every game is played in the state of Alabama is just not appealing to me

Don't care where it's played. Good football (not great, mind you) is always worth watching, unless you're a soccer fan.

The only games I’ve watched are the ones I’ve attended.

The games have been competitive, at least.

Teams are going to have to play in their home cities to build fanbases, though.

I'm hoping the USFL survives.

Haven’t watched one snap. It will die like Al of the recent prong leagues.

I've watched a fair bit of it. It's odd that they aren't playing the games at the same air time each week.

the games have been good and mostly entertaining

the problem i have with it is they treat it as a glorified practice where the other team isnt the enemy

hell the last breakers game, a few seconds left in first half and only one time out for the other team, so the breakers coach called a time out to give the other team a chance to score before the half, and they did. it never should have gone to overtime at all if they played to win and not helped the other team score just to keep the game exciting

there were no injured breakers players on the field, and defense was rested and fresh, so there was no reason for a time out, and had breakers not called that time out, the other team was still 40 yards away and would have been forced to call their last time out with only 1 or 2 seconds left in the game for one final play.

is far to buddy buddy with plyers swapping teams left and right and not playing with a killer instinct. its like there are no teams, just a practice game with guys wearing different jerseys.

hopefully next year that changes

I enjoy it. No names who play without BS.

Exactly this. I can't say I'm loving it but it's better than what the NFL is doing right now which is pretty much nothing.

I'd be more interested if not every game was in Birmingham.

The reason all the games are in Bham is because the league was being formed during the Covid BS so they planned on the "bubble" format. Next year, they will be having games in each team's home stadium. Unless some other BS comes up.

Not with the way receivers have been playing thus far.

I’ve watched more games than I’ve missed and I enjoy it. Precisely for the reason that it’s football without BS and egos and the league injecting itself into every story, every game, every down.

I get that the players aren’t as good as the NFL, but as long as the competition level is even, who cares? The games usually come down to the wire as a result.

In another thread, a poster suggested what the USFL should do is focus not so much on being the NFL lite as College Football Plus. Right now I think their focus is a little off because of it. Almost like their identity is tied to being a step below the NFL.

I say start drafting high school players and raid the transfer portal and smaller colleges like mad for players. That would help ramp up the quality of player quite a bit and establish it as a different branch of football, different from both the NFL and College.
