Seems like a good hire. Lakers could be promising if the roster wasn’t assembled by LeBum and their garbage FO

LeBron will probably go Ham on the new coach when they start losing again.

He might be a great coach but he won’t have the respect from Lebron or any of the veterans. He’s a dead man walking and will be the scapegoat when Lebron bails. I hope Im wrong.

Trade Zion and 8 to move up and take Smith. If they keep Zion they’re asking for a Ben Simmons 2.0 situation.

Ham played a couple of years at Texas Tech with Tony Battie and Jason Sasser. When Ham and Sasser were seniors in 96, they were really good. Finished 30-2, including going 14-0 in the SWC, They won the SWC tourney and won a couple of NCAA tournament games (made the Sweet 16), before losing to Georgetown.

It's kind of crazy that Battie had the better NBA career by far. He was never anything special. Averaged right at six points and five rebounds per game. That kept him in the league for 17 years. Being 6'11", and playing hard when you got on the court, used to be enough to keep a guy in the league. Tony Battie NBA sports reference
