Does the deep state know something we don't about oil??

Are all the hair-brained decisions being made by those in power, regarding oil, a red flag that something bigger is at play?
It just doesn't make any sense to shut down so many of our oil resources if you truly want to help with the price of gas.
I didn't think I'd ever see $5.00/gallon, but that has come and gone. What's next $10.00/gallon???
Why? When there seem to be plausible solutions.
The decisions have been so outrageously bad that it makes me think, perhaps, there's something we don't know driving the idiocy.
It just doesn't make any sense to shut down so many of our oil resources if you truly want to help with the price of gas.

They don’t want to help with the cost of gas. They want it to be expensive so that “green” appears like a feasible idea. In reality green is expensive and fossil is being suppressed.

Shutting down leases now doesn’t really do much to the price of oil. It will be quite some time before any of that oil comes on line.

What on earth makes you think that the left wants to help with the price of gas?
They told us before, during, and after the election that they planned to destroy the fossil fuel paradigm.

They want to make gas prices as high as possible. Trying to force people to buy electric cars.

They want us to quit using oil and gas for climate reasons. That's why they think it is necessary now to go through the pain. When I drove to Austin this past week there were an awful lot of ICE cars on the highways. They want those gone, quickly.
