Of course they don't. They're either too rich to care, or still feasting on lobster and skrimps from their 25% SNAP benefits increase.

Pretty wild that that sweet sweet gubment cheese will adjust for inflation

While normal working people salaries won’t

What progressives are too dumb to understand is that many conservatives wouldn't care if their town was "socialist."

They care if the Fed Gov is though.

One thing I've learned over the past 5 years is that words do hurt soft people and sub humans..

Knowing what I do about many a modern journalist, I feel safe in my assumption that they fully intended to use “inexorable” and have it make sense, but they either misheard it pronounced and put a c there, or a typo with the c for an o slipped by and they unwittingly stumbled on an archaic British term that betrays their hatred for America.

Unfortunately it doesn’t matter if conservative voters care either because the Republicans in office are all frauds

You're wrong.

If so you should be thanking US taxpayers for funding that little recession proof socialist government town

You mean the defense industry? The function of the government that's outlined in the constitution, as opposed to giving taxpayer dollars away to useless pieces of shite that produce or provide nothing to to society?

Of course, I'm pretty sure they were letting potatoes vote in quite few places

inflation itself would produce sufficient economic distortions to bring on a recession anyway, probably more severe and longer lasting than one induced by anti-inflation policies.

This is why the fed has to rip the band-aid off. (which they've started)

Yep, its going to be painful but necessary. We will all lose in the short term.

Is this what 2008 felt like? Obviously the situation is different, but just in terms of anxiety? I'm not even heavy in the market other than my 401k, and if history is any indicator that will rebound, but the uncertainty of what will happen is making me anxious.

There is nothing I can do, just be prepared for the worst. We stocked up with about a months worth of food, but that's all our freezer can hold. I've been thinking about investing in a deep freeze to hold 4-6 months worth of meat and frozen veg.

I'm tired of worrying about this already. Nothing can be done by any of us except preparation for the storm.

They would get away with that if they weren't high-stepping over saving Americans 16 cents during the 4th of July.

Larry Kudlow and Art Laffer were interviewing each other just recently concerning the recession and they both agreed that the only way to tamp down this inflation was to raise interest rates higher than the inflation rate.
They also agreed that J. Powell, chair of the Fed, was not capable of tackling this problem.
I fear stagflation.

No

2008 was a paradigm shift/sea change stuff. This everyone sees coming and anticipates more or less what it'll look like. Also, it's occurring in the aftermath of riots, election hijinks, unprecedented pandemic reactions, etc. People are completely used to insanity at this point, what's a moderate recession when people were prevented by law from going to church a few months ago?
