For the "Beth must go" crowd, the Texas A&M job just opened up. They will call Beth, and I'm sure she will listen.

Hope they pay her well enough for her to take the job if this is true. Personally, I don't understand why A&M would be interested in her and her coaching staff

She should be made to choose between her high salary and playing mother and get refocused on her job. If she wants to be mommy which is understandable move to destin and coach high school ball.

WTF??

Drew Brees should have stopped being around his kids so much when the Saints were trying to make that last push to the SB 2015-2020. If he wanted to play daddy, he should have moved back to Texas and started prepping his boys for PeeWee football.

Fans are impossible to please. Bama was a top6 National seed- they didn’t make it out of their regional as well. I’m sure there fans are calling for that coach’s firing as well.
There’s more to a coach besides wins/losses - graduation rate, do they represent the school well in the public eye, do they enjoy fundraising, are the student/athlete successful once leaving the school, are they keeping in competition with other schools within the conference etc

You just made the case for SW to leave the Softball Program status quo

Honestly, that might be the best for all parties. Maybe Beth, Dobson, and Leftwich need a change of scenery for some freshness. And you know they’d be motivated to come back and show up LSU.

On the home front, it’s obvious Scott Woodward would once again relish bringing in his own coach and he’d make a great-to-homerun hire.

I’d think you’d hear some grousing on the Aggie boards—“Five year downward trend at LSU and we hired her?”

Who would be some of your choices? I would go after Walton from Florida as a possibility. He might be ready for a change

No way will she be their top choice. OSU coach IMO would be getting the first call

Auburn already tried to grab Torina but that ended with Torina getting a raise and they hired Dean

Actually, I am hearing that he will be A&M's first phone call. Walton got like a 10-year deal from Florida a few years ago, but word is that money talks with him.

Personally I’d hope Scott’s first choice would be Courtney Deifel, the Arkansas HC, but in Woodward I’d continue to trust.

BAMA made the WCWS last YEAR!

we have not made it since 2017

bama is not on a 5 year down trend

murphy has won a natty and had a runner up finish in the WCWS

beth has done neither

look at bamas regular season sec titles and sec tourney titles compared to ours

look at their WCWS appearances compared to ours as well

This is dumb! This fan is not the problem with our current softball team. If anyone says so, they're full of crap!

Hey, Beth made the comment about distractions. I was pointing out a potential one. But I am so sad at me being so far down the ladder from your super intelligence.

Yes, but the arguments about a program in decline still hold true for Bama. This will be the 3rd time in 5 years they have missed the WCWS. It’s been 10 years since their title and 8 since they were runner up. Relative to their peak, they have fallen at least as much as LSU.

Florida St is the program everyone points to that represents what might be possible for LSU to achieve. Well, this will be the 4th time in 7 years they are missing the WCWS.

I get it. LSU has missed the WCWS 4 straight times and this year was another step back. Things have to change soon. Let’s just not pretend there are a lot of clear choices out there to head in a new direction that have established some level on consistency that is light years ahead of where LSU is.

Woodward has held all of the programs to a standard and has gotten new coaches in almost every program. Softball is next in my opinion, and he will go after the best candidate. The program has been in a downward trend the last 4-5 years. Better to get a coach now before Oklahoma and Texas elevate the SEC even further in softball.

Forgot to mention the transfer portal is transforming softball as other sports. To succeed moving forward retaining players and supplementing rosters with transfers will be critical. LSU has not had much success in softball.

I will agree that the one place I fault Torina is for not recognizing the need for change at pitcher soon enough and bringing in immediate help. She was too loyal to Sunseri and Wickersham. I haven’t paid attention to the rosters of other teams. What game changing transfers, especially pitchers, are driving the top rated teams headed to the Supers?

they have went TWICE in last 5 where we are sitting on our asses. they are not in decline the last 5 like we have been.
HAd we went to CWS last year i am sure we would feel much more forgiving like we were back on track headed right direction. well some of us anyway.

and they have plenty we do not have. my comments state it all. what we would give to say beth had won a CWS and added a runner up in the last 10 eh?

again look up their program stats against ours like i quoted above earlier

you really think beth is a better coach than murphy??
