Well, most would say I am not stupid at all but I get your point in that I didn't acknowledge your quotation marks, which would indicate that they weren't your words or thoughts. However, you should cut me a little slack considering the lack of sports knowledge by many Lair posters.

Are you f*cking shitting me????
The roster Johnson has right now is an embarrassment of riches! Right now, LSU has the talent to be a top 10 team. Johnson has woefully underperformed so far.
What some of you aren’t understanding is that “Great” coaches can win with whoever’s talent they have under them. Just like the famous comment made about Bear Bryant;
“He can take his players and beat you, and he can take your players and beat you.”
I can honestly say I am extremely disappointed with what I have seen under Johnson so far, and even though Johnson was in no way the coach I wanted LSU to hire, I was all in for Tony V and my posts prove it, I thought we would see instant success under Johnson because I actually know him from the San Diego baseball community. We will see, but it looks like we are going to be disappointed in this years results.

This team is average at best, with two great players in Crews and Berry. The infield has major issues, and the starting pitching.

So with a lot of the same faces why is the defense/fielding so much worse??

What sort of style is having no starting pitching?
You need to apologize to Hilliard. This was SEC series #9 and his starter threw 1 pitch.
This is on CJJ at this point.

Talented roster??? LOL. average to less than average infielders at every position except 1b. No real starting pitchers. Terrible catchers.
I think Pearson and Stevenson are definitely coming around and will be stars in next two seasons. Dylan Crews and Tre Morgan are great players all around. Berry is our best hitter, IMO.
Our roster has waaay too many talent holes to be called a talented roster.

Says the clown with the purple glasses. Not hosting anything, pal. Box is done for this year.

Say LSU gets swept next weekend at Vandy and can't find a win at hoover, any chance they miss the field altogether? That would put them at eighth or possibly ninth in the conference on a 7-game losing streak.

One of your sentences is not like the other.

Pitching talent not so much.
Posted on 5/15/22 at 6:16 pm to skullhawk
That would be a very likely end.
If not, we’d be a late entry and most likely get sent as a 3 to one of the top seeds.
Oregon State would be my expectation, if we made a Regional.

LSU may not even be ranked this week,

I feel like the talent on the roster is very overrated. Four guys do not make a roster. Starting Pitching talent is well below average in my opinion.

Sorry but I don’t agree with you. For a college team LSU is loaded with talent. More proof Johnson has underperformed, people like you feel LSU has average talent and as you put it “at best”
So what you are actually saying is Johnson is lighting it up, because to take a team with “average talent at best” and have them in the Top 25 in the country in baseball is a feat rarely accomplished!
See how the “average at best” doesn’t work???? SMH

That’s fine, not gonna attack you for an opinion, I just respectfully disagree.

X CPM, LEFT US WITH NO QUALITY STARTING PITCHERS.
WHERE WOULD BE WITHOUT THE bullpen of cooper, rezelman, and gerevise.

Y’all keep saying this but we are top 5 in the SEC in pitching stats.
I’ve been saying from the beginning of the year we can’t hit even slightly above average pitching. The hitting will completely disappear. They pad their stats more than usual against the sub par competition.
We have some serious hitters on paper. Well regarded by MLB scouts. So there is no excuse. Johnson is supposed to be a great hitting coach but I haven’t seen anything yet that confirms it. Who has improved at the plate?

I disagree with this. Yes we have a talented team but we do not have starting pitching and some of those "talented guys" are not performing like they should.
Crews and Berry have been excellent. Morgan has been injured and it has impacted his production at the plate. Dugas was out of the lineup for over a month. Beloso tore his knee and out for the year. Milazzo hurt his knee and has not been behind the plate to solidify that position.
Doughty has gone through the toughest slump in his career which ultimately resulted him kicking two balls around this weekend.
Thompson has had a very rough year.
McManus although he is coming around offensively he is still not a great catcher defensively.
Jobert has become ineffective offensively after the hot start.
Jay will be very successful here, he is doing a lot of the right things and piecing together a staff to give us the best opportunity to win.
