What is the optimal strategy for finding someone in a large park (pre-cell phones)?

Say you agree to meet someone in Central Park, but your meet-up location got miscommunicated. You can be reasonably certain that your acquittance has arrived, but at another location.
You strongly desire to meet this person. The other person is ambulatory and can reasonably be predicted to also be wanting to look for you.
Do you
A) Stand still and wait for the person to come to you?
Or
B) Go out looking for them?

Look for a land feature that would normally be expected to attract people.

Finding them in Central Perk would be much more easily done.

Find the high ground with the best vantage point.
And then strike Anakin Skywalker down.

Something fun happened yesterday.
I spontaneously dropped off my phone to get fixed, but remembered my wife’s plans for the day.
So I actually had to go to the public library to see if her car was there and then go find her inside. It reminded me of my childhood :)

If so, I think I’ve seen this movie before, George.

Meet them at the vehicle because you’re not finding them.

People had a better sense of direction. You had known meet up spots.

Designate a mailbox. Two chalk marks, it’s a no go. One chalk mark, meet at the second bench next to the fountain.
