Exactly.
Hot, humid, boring.
Nothing aesthetically pleasing, just a flat concrete jungle with no personality. Friendly people and good restaurants in a very shitty locale.

If you check out NASA, drive down to San Leon and dine at Pier 6 restaurant. Great view and good food.

The Houston Museum of Natural Science.

I went there as a kid and still have the souvenir mug. They had really cool articulated dinosaur skeletons.

I don’t even know if it still exists though as that was 30 years ago.

Phoenecia - 2 locations. Very interesting Mediterranean area supermarket with a restaurant. Have some freshly made pita and hummus and grab some baklava. Look through the aisles at the crazy spices or the whole aisle of olive oil or tea.

H Mart and eat Asian food in the food court and look through the crazy and different things for sale.

H mart rules, the kimchi aisle is great. Solid cheap meats too.

Asian markets all have great produce too.

LOL at the negative posters that think their post will make the guy decide to not do anything in Houston.

You only named places to drink.

Give us the Mark Twain quote you coward

I feel like Cleveland always gets unfairly lumped in with the "generic city" listing.

Sure, it's a place whose heyday has long passed and is a bit worse for wear in a lot of respects, but it has some unique aspects to it, such that if you're there you don't feel like you're in just Anyplace, USA.

In-n-Out truly does suck. It’s also not great when a place to visit in Houston is a chain fast food place from California.
