An eerie photograph showing dozens of alligators lurking in a Florida swamp with their eyes glowing in the dark has been captured by a wildlife photographer.
Bobby Wummer told Newsweek that he drove down to a swamp in the Big Cypress National Preserve, in Southern Florida, to capture the picture.
"I drove out there especially to get this effect with the gator's eyes glowing using my high-powered flash on my Canon camera with a wide angle lens because it was so many gators in the hole," he said. "When I got there they were grunting, bellowing, splashing around on top of each other and some work trying to catch fish. I was high up on a berm and the alligator hole was down on an angle."
Wummer said in a caption to the photo that there were so many in the lake, he was not able to get all of the reptiles in one shot.
There are about 1.3 million alligators in Florida.

Hell, drive from BR to Lafayette (or vice versa) on a warm, sunny day with no wind and you won't go 30 feet without seeing an Alligator swimming swimming in the canal under the Basin bridge. Those SOBs are everywhere.
They may have once been endangered. I promise you, they aren't any more.

Just another example of politicians being behind on the times.
Open should be started and make some cowboy boots.

That's pretty thick nest of gators. I've seen them about half as thick in Louisiana marshes.

Reminds me of my former in-laws camp near Morgan city. It was also a swimmin hole during the day, replete with a diving board off a pier.
Crazy cajuns.

Alligators have red/orange eyes when shining a bulleye on them.

They look less deadly than pit bulls.
