AirAlamo

I’m all for this. In the article, you can see there are some sky screamers. Fact is, the small metro area (comparatively) means they have to find some unique ways to tap into the fanbase when the team isn’t winning titles. The Alamodome would be part of the 50th anniversary celebration next year. I also understand the appeal of playing at the new Moody Center in Austin, and the Spurs have played in Mexico before, so that’s not something that’s unheard of.

Maybe S can have them expand the arena in Hidalgo so the action can go to the Valley

Their ABA predecessor tried that.

The Texas Chapparals played in Dallas, Fort Worth and Lubbock.

It went so well that they ultimately sold and moved to San Antonio.

The Spurs will use the ticket sales/revenue they get from this to demand a new arena in SA to be built (on taxpayer’s dime).

I think they hoped the area around the AT&T Center would get developed but it just never happened. A new arena would need to go into a better part of town

I haven’t been the Edinburg way down to the valley since it’s opened but it did look like it was going to be quite a structure last time I went that way.

Yeah fricking right. The NBA teams make so much money off the TV deals that it's total joke for any franchise to try and push such a bullshite narrative. It's not like they'll use that money to sign FAs or lower prices. It's a cash grab. Nothing more nothing less.
