Can anyone explain the Texas Tint law? And other TX questions

Last week 2 stations failed my Renegade for Factory tint. One service manager told me I added tint and nobody would sell this vehicle like this in TX OK or LA. Well I told him I bought the Renegade in OK and that’s stock. I asked why vehicles are passing that are mirrored. He then slammed my door and told me he “won’t ever pass it”
Also do I go to separate places for my license and plates? Do I have to repay Sales Tax?

The recent crackdown on tint is weird

LMAO at communist inspections.

I know I miss Arkansas horribly. Being home this weekend is going to make it worse. But tagging a car in Benton County was so easy compared to this craziness I’m dealing with.

I understand not wanting tint so dark that a police officer can't see in the driver's window for safety reasons, but other than that I don't get it.

This is crazy to me too. They actually inspect the car before issuing a license plate?

This is how my inspection went
Fatass walks around
Then honks my horn
Then sticks some stupid garage door opener on my window
Waddles over to me says you fail because of added tint and I tell him it’s a factory/stock. He waddles to a door. Out comes this guy who walks to me ask in an elevated voice “what’s your problem?” I ask what is a tint law and how can a vehicle that was sold stock less than 7 months ago not pass?
Then he tells me the TX OK line I reply where I buy. Then slam door I tell him give me my fricking keys and leave.

Peal it off, get it inspected and get it retinted. I've dealt with this every year since I moved to Dallas.

You get a new tint every year?
My ceramic tint was $300

I vaguely remember when Mississippi had inspections.

Not sure about the tint as I've never had an issue with tint. But the inspection and registration process is strange in TX, but not that difficult. Your inspection sticker is your registration. So you must get an inspection which is captured in their database. Then you can renew registration and get a new window sticker mailed to you (or get it for the first time if transferring).
As far as "stock or factory" tint, many dealerships do this themselves and also issue the original inspection. So it's very possible they played loose with the rules for their own good.

I used to have a guy who owned a South Dallas (on MLK) shop, who would give me 30 second inspections. I went to him every year after one of my cars wouldn't pass the emissions test. A buddy, who the shop owner had a load through, took me down and introduced me. One of his employees opened the hood while he was scrapping off my old inspection sticker, He looked at him and said, "Shut that before you find something wrong with it".

I'll vote not guilty. I assume you killed this uneducated blue collar shithead.

Pre cut ceramic film is around $100 for my truck. I do my own install, it's not hard to do. This fall will be the 4th year I've dealt with this
