Places to eat and must sees in San Antonio and Austin. Going to be spending a few days in each city at the end of this month.

My favorite in San Antonio is Boudro's on the Riverwalk. They can't spell but they can cook.

I'm not sure if you are traveling between or how far you plan to venture. I highly recommend detouring over to Lockhart to sample BBQ from Blacks, Smittys and Kreutz.

All these other folks got the food covered, so...

Austin Must See's:
- Bats at dusk at Congress Ave Bridge
- Paddling Lady Bird Lake - behind Hyatt on Congress
- Mt Bonnell - high point on river north of town
- Swimming holes - McKinney Falls, Barton Springs
- Reiner's ranch for hike and swimming in Pedernales River
- Lake Travis for the Oasis (just get drinks and appetizers) and state park (they also have a nude beach if you are so inclined)
- Segue tour of downtown
- Austin Brewery and Cidercade are cool

SA:
- Hop on/off bus does a good job of showing sites
- River walk of course
- El Mercado mexican market
- Sky needle - Tower of the Americas
- Six Flags if you want roller coasters

Austin Live Music:
The Continental
C-Boys
The Whitehorse (great honky tonk)

San Antonio Live Music:
The Lonesome Rose (honky tonk)
Cowboys Dancehall (really large honky tonk)

If you like wine, venture out to Fredericksburg, lots of decent wineries on the way

If you're prepared to drop a few hundred dollars and love sushi, I'd highly recommend Uchi in Austin. You need a reservation a month in advance or need to be there before they open though.

Perry's is probably my favorite steak so far in Austin.

Go checkout the hotel bar at the Driskill also. I love that hotel.
