Now that I agree with.

By the same token, folks who think they have to adopt some sort of cloistered existence, the second they have kids, are about the saddest things in the world.
Balance folks, balance.

Infant would be miserable at a LSU game. Loud noises, heat, no where to really relax and cool off.
Disney has lots of places for kids under age six to play at Disney. You can and should have them take naps daily. You can go at your own pace and avoid the sounds and rides that could freak them out.
Note: I am not advocating taking a six month old to Disney. But a 18 month to six year old. Sure.

We are def. planning to do this. If staying at on site resorts, is it pretty easy to get back and forth from the parks to the rooms and such?

you're right .. being wheeled around in the sun .. standing in slow moving lines for an hour and a half for a 48 second ride .. being changed on the same bathroom tables that 117 other kids had been changed on that day is far more kid-friendly than an LSU game ..

yeah .. after you walk 30 minutes from the park to the transportation center and then ride a bus that will make 10 stops before yours for another 45 minutes .. it's convenient as shite ..

It's not really that bad...plus you're not in the park during the worst time of the day (the middle of the day). Get there early, do your thing - had back to the room for lunch and a nap - head back to the park for late afternoon/early evening festivities (e.g. fantasmic). It works out fine.

Damn dude. You must not have gotten out much as a child. Some families can make things work out to where it is fun for kids.
Pretty miserable shite I am reading.

nah .. i'm fricking around a bit .. but you won't be back in your room 15 minutes after you decide to leave ... it does take a little time ... we went to disney a few times when i was a kid and i went three times while i was in college ..

Understood.
My only two rules as that we will not be going during the summer and we will be staying on site, preferable at the resorts with a tram running next to them.

when I said closed 10 years ago I meant moved to the boardwalk, I thought that was pretty obvious

Maybe there aren't many 28 year old couples that you know that can afford it. My wife and I are 31, and are taking our 2.5 year old and 1 year old in January. Trip is already paid. We are staying at the Polynesian so hoping the monorail will make trips from Magic Kingdom to the room quick.
Best thing about going. Kids are free. And when your in-laws are going and your mother-in-law offers to stay at the hotel at any time and hang with the kids, I don't see a downside.

That is exactly what we are going to do. The in-laws will help pay for the trip and agreed to baby sit anytime.
