I’ve moved to a new place in the South where we will grow together. And we are in football country now. I can go to so many games in the SEC. I want to go to an LSU night game. That would be dope. I’m always thinking about the community and ways to give back to the city. I know what Drew Brees was able to accomplish with the Saints in the community. It’s going to be nice to be able to win here. But I’m more worried about the legacy that I am going to leave behind.

From an excellent interview with Marc Spears about how he wants to spend the rest of his career in Louisiana and engage the culture and community. Not the typical article this board would be interested in but I thought this part was cool.

Hit him up on Twitter and invite him to your tailgate

What a great get by the Pelicans. Not only for his play on the court and the leadership to the young team, but for the genuine person that he is to represent the state of LA.

Alvarado,
Why don’t you come to my tailgate.
And let somebody feed you.
You better let somebody hug you.
Before it’s pregame

That is how you endear yourself to the fans down here. If he's sincere, and I have no reason to doubt he is, he can become as big as Brees, Deuce, and the many other people that have become truly loved down here.

Just don't put Jacob Blake's name on your helmet and you'll be okay, CJ.

So he’s the anti-Chris Paul and anti-Anthony Davis. I applaud him.

Should be a pretty big night game coming up this November. CJ should probably choose that one.

was just about to post that, we need to tweet it to LSU

also from the article

“I’m not going nowhere. I’m here,” McCollum recently told Andscape. “Where am I going to go? Leave for what? I want to retire here. I’m 30 years old and I have a son who is 13 weeks old. I’m married. When you have something good, you hold on to it. This is something fun for both sides. We’re going to grow. I’m still learning the city. I’m going to find a house.”

What kind of experience is he looking for?

Suites?
End zone?
50 yard line?
Student section?

Maybe my company can hook him up.

CBK and the staff need to get him on the sidelines for a game when hosting recruits.

If I'm in the LSU AD, I'm sending CJ season tickets for every sport.

CJ is living the dream. Beloved in Portland and Nola. His wife is a dentist and he owns a 300 acre winery in Oregon's Willamette Valley. LINK
