Max wasn’t terrible he just wasn’t great like he played that night in Florida that York made the 57 yard kick in the fog. He was a serviceable starting QB but nothing more than that. I thought he would use his legs a lot more than he actually did and his arm was universally known to be below average. He was tough though taking as many shots as he did but he would have no chance to start this year. Nuss has made a big leap forward he’s going to make this a 3 man race.

Classic example of stats do not tell the full story until you watch him actually play. He was only slightly above LSU's worst QBs in Miles era. Yes, he wasn't great. At his best he was average and extremely limited physically. If you have a great defense he could work but don't expect him to do anything big on his end. You saw it in Bama game. Many opportunities to seal that game up and his limitations showed. Pretty sure he isn't even looking good for TAMU right now which was a bizarre move for both him and Jimbo. Just goes to show how out of touch Jimbo really is and will continue to handicap TAMU with his offense.

Care to name the difference makers on this team and who recruited/signed them.
Orgeron had his problems sustaining a program but recruiting wasn't his problem.

I don’t see how Jimbo can start Max over Haynes King. He’s much more dynamic than Max.

So, to be clear - 60%, 27 TDs, and 6 INTs is "good" but not "very good".
I wasn't a Max fan either, by the by.

13 of his 27 TD’s came against:

UCLA - 3 (a PAC 12 defense)
McNeese - 3
Central Michigan - 5
ULM - 2

In conference:
Moo State. - 4
Florida - 3

That means against the gumps, pigs, aubbie, Kentucky, and A & M he had a total of 7 TD’s.

Granted two were against the gumps in a valiant effort (but NOT a good performance overall), and one was a game winner against A & M, but as stated, for the most part...he disappeared against the better competition.

The worst of the lot though:

3/6 for 21 yards in a 13-16 loss against the pigs.

Almost no one has depth these days. Backups are freshman NIL kids and transfers that will leave in a year if they don’t end up starting. And then you replace them with transfers Lol

If Joey B never existed, those stats are fantastic by LSU standards.

Are you fricking serious? Even before that dumbass got fired he was down to 50 scholarship players. Even USL would fire their coach before it got that bad.

If max stayed he would be in the competition. Probably even favored as the starter.

Max was pretty good but limited by arm strength. It was obvious that we could to short and medium passes but very iffy with the long ball.

Guess it’s no worse than you pretending he was actually good.

You act as if A&M has a coach better than Orgeron.

Hint: they don’t.

He had no running game. Literally zero.
His OLine was shitty too.

He would have had to be superman to be elite.
