All the rest were saved.
Or so they told AlJazeera. And it was caused by a fire, not by a munition from a shore battery.

If your boat is sunk and you have 27 missing five days later, they're not missing any longer. They're dead.

So did it actually sink?

It submerged gracefully.

It transitioned into a submarine.

Mostly peacefully, even.

So a few hundred were killed from the ship being sunk by missiles? Pretty cool with me.

Is that really an improvement?

I hate seeing young conscripts killed on either side. They are kids and likely just want to go home and drink and frick. Russians need themselves a modern revolution.

Well of course. The fire then set off the munitions in the ship. Then once there was a fire they put it out with sea water by making it a submarine.

Forbes reports a small fleet are surrounding the sunken ship with some salvage going to happen. Whether they are going for bodies, encryption devices, munitions, who knows.
The real irony is that a ship built for the Tsar (yes, that Tsar, the deposed and murdered one at the beginning of the last century) is a salvage ship and is envolved in this operation.
Also, the Moskva is sunk in 160 feet of water making it difficult for divers.

They evacuated over 500 sailors between when the missile hit and when it sunk.
The damaged ship was being towed to a base when it encounter rough weather and sunk.

Probably has nukes on it that they want to recover.

Despite what Russia claims it was hit by 2 neptune ASCMs. After being hit Russia moved all of its naval assets outside the operational range of the neptunes and renewed strikes on Kyiv. That wasn't a coincidence. It just took a couple days before it listed and sunk.
