How many errors would this team have without Morgan at first?

How many errors would this team have with Paul coaching them? Just curious.

This board doesn’t like to admit it but with this same roster Paul would be in the middle of an SEC championship run.

That’s not necessarily a slight on Jay because Paul wouldn’t have this roster. You’re just seeing the difference in the coaches.

Same as last year. Our numbers would be twice as bad last year too without Morgan.

There hitting may be the same and their fielding improved, but you cant convince me their pitching would be this good with PM and Alan Dunn

Paul wouldn’t have Berry or two of our more reliable bullpen arms for starters. He also wouldn’t have a clue how to manage a pitching staff that doesn’t have 3 legitimate weekend starters. So this is stupid.

What JJ and his staff have done with the pitching is pretty incredible.

He had essentially the same roster and we were a bad team last year. You have no basis for this.

LSU had 63 errors in 63 games last year
We currently have 51 in 36 games

LSU also had a legitimate SEC weekend rotation last year. Not so much this year.

True

Hoping this season gives the younger guys some confidence to be ready to step up next season
I said it before, Hilliard, Vietmeier, Fontenot, none are extraordinary pitchers but they come in & get the job done
They will be missed next season

I have high hopes for some of the bullpen guys

Hitting wouldn’t be the same because multiple guys would be benched to make room for someone who was middle of the road fielding and hits .200.

CPM would have sacrificed hitting for defense by the second weekend in SEC play. Berry would be at DH and he probably would have said something about “the kid just can’t get it done in the field” and the rant would be up in arms about him “throwing the player under the bus”

Berry wouldnt even be here.
We’d have bianco or merrifield in there instead.

Like i said our defense could be better, our hitting would be the same at best and likely a little bit worse.

Our pitching would struggle. No riley cooper or reyzelmann or gervase most likely.

And you’d have a rotation likely of hilliard, fontenot, and money. And youd be relying on the old staff to mix and match the bullpen alot. We would be where kentucky is right now.

No question CJJ is putting the best bats in the lineup and sacrificing defense. He is not alone. Some coaches favor strong defenders who hit a little less, its a philosophical difference.

According to many on this board, he should be playing OF because his "positional value" is diminished at 1st.

Tried to dismiss this notion before the season. My point is bearing itself out on the field. This specific team needs Morgan at first.
