We know every time "experts" that think they are our overlords above all make proclamations.
They are always wrong in acting as legal or intel community experts in their hyper partisan, downright OMB hate.
Just like the 51 Intel Community "experts" that were WRONG about muh Russia that Trump was an agent of Putin's.

The wonderful thing about this lawsuit is that most of it is fact already proven through many, many investigations," former President Donald Trump's attorney Alina Habba
What’s the point of quoting this? You don’t believe her? The main investigation is the Durham investigation as much of the basis of the lawsuit. Well that’s what Trump said in an interview with Glenn Beck.
Apparently the Durham investigation is taking the criminal path and Trump is riding his coattails on the civil path. At least that’s how I’m interpreting the strategy.

You honestly don't see why having a judge that was appointed by the defendants husband could be a conflict of interest?

I think you’re going to need more than that for a successful recusal.
Every federal judge in the country was appointed by someone. That doesn’t mean there is an entire class of defendant they automatically can’t hear cases about.

True, but it's very seldom if ever those judges sit on trails involving the spouse of the person who appointed them. I think it's completely reasonable for Trump’s team to ask for a more impartial judge

I understand the push to make judges partisan and political actors based on who appointed them, but it’s really just not that big of a deal. This judge will still be subject to the appellate court’s jurisdiction and will rule based on precedent in that Circuit or be reversed later on.

Trump wins on the request to have the judge recused, maybe a win legally, maybe not. All depends on the merits of the case.
Trump loses on the request to have the judge recused, he wins politically. The case still rides on its merits.

There is zero chance of this lawsuit prevailing. Not because it is without merit but because it’s a fixed fight.

I think you’re absolutely right in that this was filed more for public consumption than it’s likelihood of success on the merits.

Already??!!
It’s like endless land mines with these evil bastards.

In the eventuality that this case ends up in front of the Eleventh Circuit, should these judges recuse themselves?
Judge Appointed By
Charles Wilson Bill Clinton (D)
William Pryor George W. Bush (R)
Adalberto Jordan Barack Obama (D)
Robin Rosenbaum Barack Obama (D)
Jill Pryor Barack Obama (D)
Kevin C. Newsom Donald Trump (R)
Elizabeth L. Branch Donald Trump (R)
Britt Grant Donald Trump (R)
Robert J. Luck Donald Trump (R)
Barbara Lagoa Donald Trump (R)
Andrew Brasher Donald Trump (R)
Or, if it goes to SCOTUS, should Breyer (if he's still on the bench), Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barret recuse themselves?

Do judges dismiss lawsuits based on where the representative attorney attended law school now?
Judges dismiss lawsuits d/t one side's ineptitude and/or related oppositional expertise. This is a novel case with a potentially precedent-setting legal premise. It is legally complicated stuff. Alina Habba's law school training did not provide her with expertise in any field, much less in something like this. Further, her practice background provides her no experience in the area whatsoever. Her opponents will be the brightest, best-schooled, most experienced lawyers the Democrat machine can hire. Aside from those little details, Habba is ready to go.
As Sun Tzu said, “Every battle is won before it's ever fought.”
But no, judges do not dismiss lawsuits based on where the representative attorney attended law school now.

This won’t be the first time Habba looks overmatched and out of her league once it gets down to the actual lawyering.

I suspect this is a preemptive strike to cut the legs out of similar motions bu defendants when they get to the appellate court, where there are a lot of Trump appointees

It’s amazing how fast they circle the wagons. Democrats don’t even have to ask anymore

The judge that he got was a Clinton appointee who let Hillary off the hook for the servers

Yeah I’m on a “everyone’s an expert in everything and it’s pretty silly” kick. But you are indeed an attorney correct? That’s undeniably a leg up on non-attorneys in these matters. Goes without saying. But my question is have you randomly followed the career of this particular lawyer lady?

How do we know that? Do they teach secret stuff at top law schools?
If Trump is as smart as we think he is, then he chose her for a reason. Or, he’s an egomaniac who jumped the gun and got any ambulance chaser who wanted some publicity.
Time will tell. But, Trump has been right about pretty much everything, so I’m not sold that it’s the latter.
