How old is Pujols now? 42? 43?

Looks like they are trying to put the band back together for one last run.

I mean, its fun and attendance will get a massive boost, but this doesn't help us any.

I'll be shocked if he gets 23 HR's, but man it would make for a great story if he does.

He's only gonna play against LH's. So pretty much a part-time, platoon role.

Agreed and as we learned with Bonds - the performance enhancers can prolong your career.

For $2.5MM, in a role that is at least a decent fit, and with Yadi and Waino in their last season, this deal is a no brainer for the Cardinals. DeWallet is so budget conscious. The ROI on this deal will be through the roof.

679 HR's, I just don't see how he gets to 700. Not without another year.

A return to hitting against the Pirates and Reds pitching in their historically great launch pads for him will definitely help. Miller Park too.

They play 38 games against the Reds and Pirates(19 each), I actually think he'll get to it. Barely.

He does mash in those parks but against only lefties is a lot different.

His last full season 2019 he hit 23 in 541 AB's.

The 12 with Dodgers could be an anomoly.

I hope he gets there, knowing how bad he wants it. Hard to doubt him.

He also needs 64 RBI to pass Babe for 2nd all time. Doable also.

Right-hander Chris Archer and the Minnesota Twins are in agreement on a one-year, $3.5 million contract, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN. Archer, 33, will join the Twins' rotation and can earn up to $9.5 million this season with performance bonuses.

I didn't know that.

So if he gets there it'll be Hank, Pujols, and Ruth top-3 in RBI.

Except Bonds not only extended his career. He was having record breaking numbers in his mid and late 30's. That's the exact opposite of Pujols.

He'll be lucky to get 250 ABs between platooning and staying healthy.
