That isn’t true

It’s based off of survey data which is useless from a stats standpoint because it is unreliable

Certainly not for the 33% whose savings they’ll steal by force of govt when push comes to shove.

You’re probably right, I’d bet it’s higher than 67%.

This happens when banks give every a-hole a loan with low interest.

i just dont get...even when i was a younger family making ~70k for a household i still had money in the bank.

people just dont know how to budget, or they dont care to.

new cars every 3 years, new $1k iphone every year, eating out 3 times a week....all that is fine, IF you can afford it.

Welcome to every poll that would lean unfavorably to democrats if taken correctly.

War Room had a stat that said 64% live paycheck to paycheck but we're pretty close with 67% from the NPR source. Here's something even more shocking....80% of American households are 30 days away from losing their asses if this nation goes into a depression level economic situation. 80% can't make it a month without their current monthly income......no sizable emergency fund.

This is my concern. I'm afraid that when I retire, the government is going to "equitably distribute" my pension to the people who spent their prime earning years blowing money on vacations, new cars, bass boats, and RVs instead of saving and investing.

This is pretty much it ^. We have ppl that are too lazy to get their fast food and pay double to have it delivered by someone else. That’s so gross, I don’t even like my kids touching food until we get home if we get fast food.

When unimaginable convenience can be bought, this is the end result. Don’t want to cook tonight? Order DoorDash for a $65 meal. Sure, you could have prepared an amazing home cooked meal for much cheaper, but who has the time? Don’t feel like pursuing genuine human connection on a meaningful level? Subscribe to someone’s onlyfans. Got bored with that one? Subscribe to ten more. And don’t get me started on the streaming subscriptions.

I believe it. See way too many people in my area that live in a new house, have new vehicles, boat, camper, go on expensive vacations and there aren’t enough high paying jobs to support the lifestyles.

Well, everything is more expensive and nobody wants to cut back or quit buying.

Once you factor debt vs. savings, the 67% is true more than likely.

So many people are under water with their cars, CC and student loans. The housing market is the weird one though. Home prices are so inflated right now, it could get much worse

I know they want my 401(k) so bad they can taste it. They’ve openly said such.

I need to make arrangements before it happens.

Living paycheck to paycheck makes it seem like they aren’t underwater. I bet the majority are worse than living paycheck to paycheck and are in deep credit card debt as well.

If you have it in any kind of account, they can get to it. To take it out you'd have to pay the tax (at least 24%) plus a 10% penalty if you're under 59 and a half. The FedGov has made sure that you keep your money where they can get to it.
