Too bad you don’t have the self awareness to apply this to yourself. Better to remain silent and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

You should be very, very quiet

They were not the same circumstances and you know it. Stop trying to perpetuate that lie.

Explain how anything I said is factually untrue. You cannot. Hence you only keep saying "not the same circumstances." The only difference in circumstances pertains to which party was in the White House, which is utterly irrelevant to a Presidential authority to make a nomination and the Senate duty to take it up.

The only real difference that mattered to the Republicans in the Senate was who was making the nomination.

When the democrats turned the court into an activist weapon, it became compromised. Just look at the idiot Sotomayor. There's literally no difference between her and one of the crazies from BLM riots. They'd vote exactly as she does with an equal amount of ignorance of the constitution or law.

These two statements are contradictions. In one statement, you say there was no difference. In the very next statement, you point out the difference.

The Senate is not required to take up a nomination from the president. The only thing utterly irrelevant is your desire for how you want things to be.

Never. (Although I understand that authoritarians love to suppress views they dislike).

And keep posting here and in other cesspool echo chambers so you falsely believe you are a majority.

Where did you take Constitutional Law? From Barry Soetoro?

I ain't listening to some GD jackleg like you who doesn't understand the roles of the Senate and President when nominating judges lecture me on Constitutional Law. Filth like you is why we're paying $5+ for gas and real inflation is 15%+.

We are the majority.

If this was a "cesspool echo chamber," you would be banned.

So you have admitted the hypocrisy. In first instance, the official Senate position conveyed by McConnell was that the Senate should not take up a nomination so close (8 months) to an election, because it could go against what the people might want. In the second instance, the fact that an election was less than 2 months away did not matter to the same party.

If you can't see that as hypocrisy, you either don't know what hypocrisy is or you are engaged in some extreme rationalization. So you are more interested in "winning" than in democratic principles...which has become the norm for the bottom feeders.

Ok. We agree that McConnell is an idiot who should have simply said "we don't have to do that, and we won't."

That does not mean the Senate had to take up the nomination, and he could have used literally any reasoning he wanted for not doing so.

It wasn't unprecedented. It wasn't unique. It wasn't unusual. It wasn't hypocrisy.

It's just how our system works. You're fooling yourself if you don't think the Dems would have done the exact same thing. I mean, they're talking about blowing up the entire system of government to stack the court.

You keep telling yourself Biden actually got the most votes in history, with Trump 2020 in second place. The rest of us will live in reality.

Your party started the politicization of the court with Robert Bork. That was Ted Kennedy and Joe Biden - LYING AS USUAL.

Your party doubled down with the Anita Hill bullshite regarding Clarence Thomas. This while both parties were banging underaged pages in the Senate.

And upped the nonsense with “the wise Latina” bs. And now choosing another candidate EXPRESSLY based on identity politics .

You understand nothing about Constitutional law and the chances of you having any real formal education is about 10%...and if you do I'm sure it was at something that barely passes for a college.

And you have conveniently ignored the actual point - the clear hypocrisy of the positions described by the same Senate majority leader.

Yep. It took decades for Republicans to finally follow suit and play the game the Dems were playing with the Supreme Court. About dang time.
