Only 2 out of 6 players so far have not hit in the water. Schoeffler, schauflee, brooks and Morokawa have all hit it in the water.

I am sitting in my sunroom looking overwear number 4 on the county club side of Sawgrass. I can tell you that watching the trees on tv is not doing this wind any justice. It is howling. I just moved one of my cars out of the driveway because fear of trees falling.

At the time they showed the 20 balls in the water today on 17, only 27 players had teed off on 17.

I played today. The wind was bad!! Even down wind the ball was getting knocked down. The North wind is a cruel bitch

My buddy asked me to play today. I told him no.

We played last weekend at PGA West the Dye stadium and Mtn course. 36 holes in wind just like this. It was absolutely brutal. We didn’t have the luxury of soft greens either.
I mean it sucked to go on a trip w buddies and play target golf style dye courses not built for wind like that.
We all agreed that those were the hardest conditions any of us had ever played. I played in winds like this at Bandon and the caddy said it was a bit silly, but it was still enjoyable. Not so much on a Dye track.
I’m enjoying watching this today just as a frame of reference.

Quite the discussion on golf central.

I played today, and this was amazing to me.
I had a shot over a pond. Only need about 100 to clear it. Did not even think about the water when I selected the club. It was a club I usually fly 175 or so. Strike was good. All in it traveled 142.
I just laughed. It was blowing so hard at times that it made putting strange. The flag moving so much we either tended pin or took it out. Leaves and pine straw blowing all around while you are trying to balance to begin stroke.

I'm no Sergio fan, but what just happened should never happen.

Flush iron, past the pin, sucked back all the way through the green, not stopped by the collar, sploosh.

You mean a guy that is known for putting insane spin on a ball didn't hit a knock down and splashed a ball because of his decision? That's exactly what PGA golf should be IMO. Consequential for not executing.

Well, it appears we do not agree.
