Seems like I don't usually see them until Jasmine is blooming and it's still a tad early for that.

Which jasmine?
If you are talking about the native yellow one, it's blooming all over.

The white, fragrant one. Star maybe?

I've not seen one at all this year and we have feeders hanging on the back porch with the sweet liquid in them to attract them.
I'm in N.O.

They are usually a little later just north of the interstate.
Feeders are ready though. Also, most of you probably know there's no need to use the red liquid feed.

That's because they are vacationing in Florida waiting on this last storm to pass.

Good to know, I want to put out some feeders this year. Do yall have a particular brand/style of feeder that works best?
I have some bottle brush trees that they absolutely swarm but I want to put up a feeder and a HD camera to get some up close footage. I'll post them up here if I pull it off.

Really no need to bring to a boil, just warm enough to dissolve all the sugar. Any bacteria that causes faster spoilage is on the hummingbird’s beak/tongue as gets introduced regardless of how sterile the solution is initially.
