26 interstate shootings in a year isn't "rare"

This reminds of of an old Louis CK bit where he's talking about stepping in dog shite. Paraphrasing...Friend asks him one time, "How many times do you think you've stepped in dog shite in your life? Like 100?"

"100? What do you do, professionally step inside of a dog's a-hole? Look down once in a while! I don't know...maybe 5?"

Anything above 1 in this case seems pretty fricking extreme, and calling it relatively rare is just hilarious.

What is the caliber being used?

Big difference from a 9mm and a .308 if you are a so called sniper laying out a plan of attack

That’s an obvious bit of info that’s missing. Of course I didn’t click the article so maybe it’s in there.

When I hear “sniper” I think of a guy with a rifle, hiding somewhere and picking off drivers. That’s not happening with a handgun. With a handgun it’d be what we thought it was—a car pulling up next to another and shooting. We’d also expect witnesses although this is Nola where witnesses only come forward for mask enforcement.

The people who just keep saying "its gangs" blows me away. LOOK at the facts, this isn't gang shootings.

A police officer, newlyweds, a college student were all shot.

There is ZERO commonality amongst the victims other than that they were driving on I-10.

And people saying "sniper" isn't accurate either. This isn't someone with a rifle from afar. This is a person driving up next to another car and lighting them up. It's a "shooter" more than a "sniper."

Yeah, I don’t know if a sniper by definition HAS to be a guy with a rifle but that’s surely what everyone accepts the word to mean.

The best thing that could happen is the Gulf of Mexico swallowing that shite hole permanently.

Mostly on the high rise, huh? We sure it's not a PI attorney trying a new angle?

Are there no cameras on the road in that area? Seems like that wouldnt be a bad idea since it seems to be hot spot.

The state has cameras on the interstates. Not sure if local municipalities can do that.

Also, not sure if the state ones are recorded.

Is this the newlywed story?

quote:

On Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021, as newlyweds took to I-10, still clad in gown and tuxedo, the groom allegedly shot the honeymoon car’s chauffeur, accusing the driver of sleeping with his new bride. Police caught the man quickly after both men exited the car. The chauffeur ran as the groom, 30-year-old Devin Jose Jones, followed firing a handgun and accidentally wounding another driver, a woman driving her two children home after church.

This is one of the many reason why I am boycotting the city. I used to come over 3-4 times a year and spend money but this stopped for me and my friend group. My group of friends have all sworn off any tickets to events in the city.

There is a full blown serial killer that has killed dozens and law enforcement had done nothing. This is unacceptable.

I tried finding another story about newlyweds and that is all I come up with.

I admittedly don't know much about the author of the OPs article, but his twitter looks like someone obsessed with linking murders in hopes of finding a serial killer.

Can someone explain the logistics behind this? I mean, how much time is this guy leaving his wife with a chauffeur?

It seems it was on the spillway bridge as well. Which means the shooter went after the driver of the car he himself was riding in.
