Disney is not a fricking "rite of passage" for kids.

Anyone that pays to go to that shithole is a fool, cuz you know about him and his money.

Just dumb, people.
Dumb.

Europeans.

The South Americans are pretty legit and knowledgeable in the parks. . And I swear they must issue yoga pants on the flights up.

Meh. To each their own. Daily, everyone pays money to corporations who give money to a very wide array of organizations.

My family liked going. So we went. We go lots of places. We do lots of things.

One thing we don’t do is call folks names for doing things they enjoy and spending their money how they want on vacation.

They’ve def lowered the bar on employees there for the sake of being woke. While at the same time continuing to raise their prices. There are so many better options to take a family for vacation then Disney. National parks for examples. But to each their own I know kids all love Disney. But it’s def not what it used to be. I live in Orlando and I wish Disney would gtfo of town. The parks cause so much congestion on the roads and airports.

You really need someone who works there to actually tell you “goodbye” when you leave? Is that part of the “magic” that isn’t there anymore?

BTW I love these threads because the more and more butthurt adults who rage quit Disney because Goofy didn’t give them a hug like he used to just means that there will be less losers there when I finally have to take my little kids (the people the parks are actually intended for).

Spent 4 park days there. Set your expectations beforehand and do your planning. I know to some people that isn’t the idea of a vacation but gone are the days where you can just roll up to Disney and have a magical time.

Only complaints would be the scooter people are multiplying. 90% are fully able to walk but because their family can cut every line with them it makes it a huge benefit.

We just spent 4 days too. It was very packed, but at least the temperatures were decent to pleasant.

Genie+ works if you have a wizard running it for you. You have to be super attentive when each window opens or things will book up quickly. Luckily the wife had a very specific plan and was on top of it. We spent much of Friday in Epcot and then swapped over to Magic Kingdom for 5pm. She had us on overlapping time slots of 7 Dwarves, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder railroad. That was truly magical to ride each with no waiting back to back to back.

Ratatouille was great. We gladly paid the extra money to ride it in the lightning lane. It was very worth not having to stand there and wait IMO.

On days 3 and 4, I started a stopwatch each time we entered a standby line to compare actual time with the posted wait times. They overestimated all of them (probably intentionally).

Of note, Test Track and Soarin’ were both listing as 60 mins when we went Friday. We rode and completed Test Track in 23 minutes and Soarin in 33 minutes. Most other rides were closer to 2/3’s listed wait times.

You’re missing the point. It is a service oriented company. One of the basic things these folks are trained to do say hello and good bye. For a company that prided itself on delivering more than the basics…it is noticeable when they miss on a basic at a ticketed attraction.

Also…I am a service oriented guy. I pay attention to it. I especially pay attention to it when a company has other companies come learn how to do it right.

I wasn’t “butthurt “…I was acknowledging something that I had never witness Disney miss on before.

No real rage either. Still going to visit in the future. Just not for a couple years.

Good luck on your future trip. I have kids 4 kids, 5-17.

I will say it was cool doing rides and attractions with my youngest and then experiencing Epcot my older kids. Both had a lot of fun doing in very different ways.

So true! We have become big Universal fans. Fun rides, better resorts than Disney, much cheaper, and much less stressful.

I went last year while dodging hurricanes. We decided it was good time to go see new “Star Wars park”

Despite the park being pretty much empty, and us getting there early reading all the tips, etc, we didn’t get on the good ride except on standby, and got on right before Closing.

The rides were really cool. But like I said then. Only Disney could frick this up and they did. Go to Universal next time, 100 times better.

They hired a CEO all about the bottom line, and they really suck right now. You couldn’t pay me to go back there rn, but my kids have been tons and are older

That is so far off base. Disney can get expensive but a basic resort hotel and snacks and meals, a family of four is less than 5. If you go really cheap, can be sub 3,500.
